I admired the introspective reflections juxtaposed with the personified clock. The use of sounds with the "notes" and the "tick-tock" is quite effective. Best wishes in the challenging contest with this splendid entry. -Joan

As when we are having fun the time flies...but that unforgiving clock is still ticking away.

Even though you're showing the picture of a flow, I'm thinking that this has more to do with people, perhaps of the "affluent persuasion"? :) I'm not quite sure what the "silence" is, though, but I enjoyed pondering this one. :)

A beautiful poem my friend Amanda. You have a beautiful mind. I found your word pictures to be excellent and made me apart of your poem. Thanks for the trip.

Awesome this is and presented wonderfully. Not all wordy like most of them are. I guess that is why I like it so much.

Hi writer,
I very much like the interesting twist this well written wabi-sabi brings into the contest. It is short and sweet but successfully demonstrates both impermanence and the ingenious integrity of life's natural processes where lush living imparts pleasure... for awhile. Best wishes and warm regards, W ^-^

This poem must be full of wabi-sabi, since it was seasoned with off-key notes. I guess that would cause suffering. But where's the modesty and ingenious integrity of natural objects?

Does the time clock imply impermanence?

Cheers,
DW

Exactly, DW, that time clock keeps on tickling in those time when we wish to stop it...too much fun!

A nice poem. I like the time clock ashamed. I don't know if this is really wabi sabi, missing the mark of suffering, although, to many punching a time clock is suffering.

The abundance of life, the flora and fauna and all living things follow and abide by the seasons.
A time to grow and rejuvenate, a time to reap and be grateful. A season to huddle together to escape the winter cold and a period of hibernation or death.
Time continue to bring forth these inevitable changes and in it all, wabi-sabi made us wiser to the passage of time before us in all things living and non-living.
Everything succumb to this reality of wabi-sabi.
Great write and well expressed.
Cheerio, Ritchie.

That's an interesting concept, since we all are imperfect in some way. I like the poem because of the symbolism of the sunflower and how free and lovely it is. It's the perfect symbol of a lush life, but also signifies fragility. I like this piece! Nicely done!!

Thank you so much for liking my first attempt to a wabi-sabi. Humbling experience.
