Lovely senryu with cute photo which brought a smile to my face. Nice progression, rhythm, flow, and descriptive wording with impressive imagery for an excellent read. Thanks for sharing, Deb

How sad!!! I was behind and elderly man at the DMV a while back. The court treated him with disrespect. I fell so sorry for him and wanted to help, but was afraid too. These people who disrespect people should be fired.

I definitely agree--it is hard to know what to do in such a situation. Thanks, my friend~Debbie

A very good job of pointing out some of the barriers to those of us who are limited in what we can do. Very well presented with the spinning wheel chair. Thanks for keeping at it. Your friend, Bob

Debbie, this is so sorrowful, and so infuriating. My best friend all through grade school was on crutches from a childhood bout with polio. Her family moved to Montreal before we started high school, but we were inseparable before then.
I do not know what the hell is wrong with people.
Your senryu is just fabulous. The 'aha' moment is something everyone should appreciate (but don't)!

clever thought but so true, we have shops and offices that are wheelchair friendly but they never lower the bank counters, making you feel small...

I hadn't thought about it but you have made a very good point. I spent a fair amount of time in a wheelchair but my daughter was always near and handled everything, did help prevent some of these frustrations. Good piece. God loves you and so do I

Hi Debbie,
you bring to life the obstacles you face on a daily basis in a few deft words. Maybe one day the world will come to realize the needs of others in every walk of life, not just toilets and ramps. Well penned Debbie, good point.
Kindest thoughts,
James xx

Thanks, James. There is one counter at the doctor's office I can't see over to see who is speaking to me. Very frustrating. Thanks so very much for your kind and understanding review, my friend. Take care
`Debbie xx

LOL Where the heck did you find the spinning chair. That's hysterical.
Very much like being one of the little people. They've had to face this dilemma for years.
Little people have asked for years for lower access such as in rest rooms to wash hands. Drinking fountains for wheelchair(handicapped) finally gave them water.
I like your senryu. We need better access for little people and seated people, how's that.(Many little people are also seated people.)

The photo came from photobucket--pretty cool huh. Yes, little people face many of the same barriers. We need to speak up and fight for change. Thanks, Ellen. It is so nice to talk to someone who understands~Debbie

Hi Debbie, that spinning wheelchair was making me dizzy! LOL
Great poem and a powerful last line - so true too when you think of what level the person is at when sitting in a wheelchair.
Thanks for sharing it.
