excellent consonance of hard C sounds in creeps and scuttles and alliteration in smelly stuff
I love that this is written from the point of view of the spider :-)
I also like the colloquial speech patterns
great personification - love the humor of Aunty Black Widow and her mourning dress
oh, what a fun gallows humor ending LOL
I am laughing out loud :-) Brooke

Hey Brooke, You could keep a copy for young Sawyer! I'm glad you laughed. We saw a 6ft snake in our park yesterday - we learn to live with them...yuk! Love, K.

Not a big fan of spiders myself. Cleverly written poem that certainly let's us know of your disdain towards the spider...
"Splat" !!! Was all that was needed, nicely done...

LOL!! I curled up! Oh, Kay, this is so funny, the ending was so unexpected, I just loved it! We don't have Black Widows here, but we do have scorpions, so I am very careful when I move rocks. How can you make something that scares the life out of me, make me laugh so much!!! Wonderful. xsx Sandra

G'day mate - Oz has THE most deadly snakes and spiders in the world, at least one didn't get away. I used to keep a shovel near the door when I lived in the country - cats kept bringing mummy red-bellied black snakes in! ZING OFF WITH IT'S HEAD! Love, Kay XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Well, there's a cautionary tale for you. Careless
vanity will earn you SPLAT--whatever Auntie Black Widow
might tell you. Nice little bit about Uncle
having passed away.
I like that you told your tale through the eyes of the spider.
Peace, Lee

No, I don't like spiders, and like this story/poem I think a good spider is a dead one, and I don't care about nature's balance as far as they are concerned.Always have the mortein handy I say. A good read, I enjoyed.
