Hah! Sorry, Connie. It kind of has the same effect on me too, at times.
Thanks again...

Dean,
The dripping water is an effective background for your important message. Hate and cutting others down seems to run rampant in today's world. Messages like your, hopefully, will open eyes to the damage it causes.
Well done!

Scared the shit out of me: the rushing water sound and the drip-drip of--something. A very effective means of psychological torture is to bind a person face up under a leaking faucet and allow the water to constantly fall on their foreheads. You made your point and then some. I'm sorry to hear of anyone, young or old, being subjected to bulling--of any kind. Kenny

As am I, Kenny, it's a common problem today that I feel is often ignored. I appreciate your insights and kind review on this one!

I think most of us experienced some degree of it as youngsters but its compounded now by the internet--and gangs.

You have done an outstanding job with this, Dean. And you are absolutely right about the networking circuses we have these days on social sites. They have become extremely dangerous. Well done, Giddy

A strong and powerful expression about unkind or insensitive words that can cut to the quick, done in a well crafted 5-7-5 formatted poem. Your color scheme really makes it stand out.

Thanks Treischel. It's a big problem today, most everywhere I believe. Thanks for your insights and review, my friend!

What a thoroughly captivating and thought
provoking piece of work. The message rings
loud and clear; is the world in so much pain
that we have to take out on others? Hope your
daughters OK, all my best, Ridley

Thank you very much, Ridley. She's doing ok now, but tip toes far more cautiously around the social networking sites than she used to!

this is very well written, dean, you did an excellent job writing this poem about the words that cut deeply and leave scars that are hard to overcome. I wish you the best of luck in the contest and pray your daughter's bully is ashamed of themselves.

A word of true feeling and experience of being surgically operated by harsh words that are so painful, rightly slated how words could cut heart sharply, often man fails to think word power. 8/707

For some reason, I feel that I would like this poem better if the last line were a bit more gross Maybe I'm a sadist, I don't know. But I love it!! Excellent write!

'Surgical Words' is an extremely well-written piece. Short, succinct and very much to the point. Not all wounds can be seen, but others may take years to heal. It was a privilege to review a work of this caliber.
