I'm still struggling with the simple sentence thing, but the dialogue helped a lot in this chapter. :) The story is moving along nicely, and you've got us in suspense. Who's in the house? Only time will tell!

Great job on this post my friend. And still full of mystery, must admit you have me pondering throughout the read as well.
Excellent chapter for this story.
Thanks for sharing it.

Dear Barbara, this is making me more and more curious. Who in the world is in that house. I wonder if there's really another stairs, but I thought they had looked before. You sure know how to keep us in suspense and waiting for the ghost who has invaded the house.
I'll be waiting.

Everything read well and I found very little wrong.
You wrote this:
After a short pause, Cash glanced toward Paige and saw her eyes wide open, staring at the door,
*You cannot stare at anything with closed eyes.
Try:
After a short pause, Cash glanced toward Paige and saw her staring wide-eyed at the door,
It sounds exciting!

Oh dear my dear this does give one the jitters. I would probably want to be going back to Boston too. I'm sure glad this is fiction or I'd have to pray for these dear ones. Good story. God loves you and I do too.

Good afternoon,
I think this is the second or third post you have written. This is a nicely developed story and from the looks of it you have a sinister plot around the corner. You have a nice style of writing that is clear and easy for the readers to relate.
Great job.
