Reads fine and I can't find any mishaps or typos to speak of. I haven't read the entire book but this chapter seems that it could be a part of an interesting story. Pic definitely goes with story.

A nice set-up for more intrigue and drama, barbara. Clues galore, but nothing really too clear fom the sleuths yet. Fine pacing and great dialogue. Warmest regards, Bev

This is an interesting piece. I've missed quite a bit, but I think I'm keeping up. The writing is still very good. Good job and good luck.

I think your chapter is well written, but I think it's a bit confusing. Are you referring to there being a ghost in the house. Perhaps Union and Confederate soldiers? I'm sure in the actual book, it would make more sense than just reading a part of a chapter. Keep writing.

All of this is explained in previous posts. I break my chapters up because I work full time and don't have time to post entire chapters. Thank you

It read well and I could find no problems with SPAG. It all sounds rather mysterious! With secret staircases and maybe tunnels... Intriguing.

Sorry to come in on chapter 36, which means of course that I don't know the story. I can try to review the writing though. Well edited. An excellent write and easy to read. Now I am curious about the tunnel.
Good work
Cheers

Hi Barbara, another nicely paced post.
The hidden staircase is an intriguing detail, the mystery deepens. Well written as always and the characters leap from the page.
I love the puppy being in the mix as always.
Great stuff.

Once again you manage to keep your readers interest throughout the entire chapter, and you use dialog well to keep your story moving.
Hmm! A secret staircase and... maybe a secret tunnel? Now that could explain some of the strange happenings. But more importantly, now we need to know why. Could there be something of value hidden? Or is there some connection to the underground railway?
You weave your story well, I cannot wait for the next chapter.
Thanks for this latest chapter.

Your dialogue is excellent and puts this reader right in the room with the characters. I walked behind them because I was scared, though. Ha. For a quick post, my quick read appeared spag-free to me. Very well done.
