The Bible speaks of witches who can conjure spirits. And it also speaks of angels and demons, so the spirit world does exists. Although many Seance are fake, there are stories of psychic helping police. I guess it depends on what you believe. Thank you for reviewing my story. I guess I chose the subject because it's scary.

According to studies, the majority are fakes. My personal experience backs this up, but I have attended a few that I would give credit to as being legitmate. Good luck in your contest.

It's a good piece of writing - almost a poem. Maybe if the expert is simply "bemused"? That way, we stay in the dramatic moment.

I liked this. It did create and eerie feeling. Thumping along the walls. I wish I'd thought of that one.
I don't think you need the comma after 'tricks.'
