Another very true poem though I must admit I tend to belong to the group you describe as the "blinded" as far as my personal life is concerned !

That was beautiful and Sawyer, if that was randim picture, has learned he is loved and beauiful. He is so damn cute and your family is so very blessed. And for the post part, they rang so true, we're always looking for the next big thing, when the next big thing is happening to our friends or family. The rhyming pattern was good but most importantly, it flows good. Nice job Brooke! The baby stole the show!

Ya, I'd have to agree that this is a darling photo of Sawyer. (I feel like I know him now). This is a very lovely poem about those that we love and how we don't have to search far and wide for our joy. A great encouragement! I loved it.
On another note I read Dennis' story about your unfair advantage-very cute also!

Dear Brooke,
A very interesting poem. I guess you weren'tcursed with the wanderlust bug. But to all things a season, no? a very nice verse--Ted

Ted, I have lots of wanderlust. But I do find the most fulfilling feelings in being surrounded by loved ones :-) And since Sawyer lives 3000 miles away, I feel wanderlust pulling me in his direction all the time. LOL :-) Brooke

To adewpearl,
A short poem addressing the adoration and need to be around our beloved and cast our cares of more luxurious fancies aside.
Many good uses of alliteration noted.

This poem rings true. We need to be satisified with our life as of right now. Thanks for reminding us in this beautiful poem.

Lovely picture of a handsome wee boy. Great poem with a message we should all heed, the grass is not always greener on the other side. We should learn to love what we have. :) Jaq xx

We all find inner peace in various places but where we find it we should embrace it and give thanks to the Lord for this gift.

Hi Brooke,
What an expression on Sawyer's face, eh? You might never capture it again, it's that unique. "Okay, Mom, who are you trying to kid? I'm too little to wash myself yet!"
Your message is clear... be content with your lot in life. The grass isn't always greener over that next hill.
We need structure in our lives, family and things we might not even enjoy...like bath time. Only hobos throw caution to the wind.
As I read your beautiful poem, I'm reminded of this old folk song:
http://youtu.be/Ct2E4kHzhLM
"CHORUS:
(Green, green, it's green they say)
(On the far side of the hill)
(Green, green, I'm goin' away)
(To where the grass is greener still)
a-Well I told my mama on the day I was born
"Dontcha cry when you see I'm gone"
"Ya know there ain't no woman gonna settle me down"
"I just gotta be travelin' on"
a-Singin'
CHORUS
Nah, there ain't nobody in this whole wide world
Gonna tell me to spend my time
I'm just a good-lovin' ramblin' man
Say, buddy, can ya spare me a dime?
Hear me cryin', it's a
CHORUS
Yeah, I don't care when the sun goes down
Where I lay my weary head
Green, green valley or rocky road
It's there I'm gonna make my bed
Easy, now
CHORUS Everybody, I wanna hear it now !!!
CHORUS (To where the grass is greener still)
(To where the grass is greener still)
FADE
(To where the grass is greener still)"
A wonderful poem, Brooke. And such a terrific shot of Sawyer! I'd give you six stars if I could.
Thanks for sharing.

I have not thought of that song in ages but do have great memories of it - I think it was on an album I owned, maybe the serendipity singers? Thank you so much, Kimbob, for your most thoughtful review and kind wishes for a sixth star :-) Brooke

The New Christy Minstrels were most popular back in the 60's as a folk group.
-
OK - that's the other group I had albums of, pretty much like the serendipity singers :-)
