Oh this gave me chills . I wish I had a six because your poem made me feel chilled.........as a kid I met some sailors ....we lived in a port town....I asked of all the places that they had sailed to what had impressed them most...it was Japan. They told me of buildings with the imprints of people blasted into them . That eyes had melted that had gazed at the atomic bomb...chills
Unfortunately the bomb did not target the perpetrators of Pearl Harbor but innocent me women and children...but it certainly was horrific enough to deter atomic bombs use ...ie the Cold War ....
Thanks for keeping this in the forefront
God bless

This was an excellent use of the acrostic poem to report and raise awareness of the impact of those bombs being dropped. The radiation effects can be seen to this day. Excellent work here.

An extremely very sad poem, yet you wrote the truth. How painful for you to have written this poem because it is full of sad memories.
For any war, there is always a question. Why? Terry

I like your use of the last two words 'truce maker' - but at what cost! You have made a very good job of your acrostic and at the same time told the story. We know the horror of those two Japanese cities that were bombed and your author notes are helpful for any who have forgotten or are too young to remember. A terrible price was paid by innocent civilians in order to end a world war. A good read. Regards Dorothy

The writer delivers a message that is filled with truth and reality. The photo represents the piece well as the reader can fill the emotion and the intensity of the words. The authors notes add more depth to the message. Thank you for sharing.

The picture is an actual photo from 1945 of a victum trying
to get away from the blast and its aftermath. I borrowed it
from FanArtReview for this write. teafor2

This is very clever. You don't say (or at least, I couldn't work out) whether you think the use of this weapon was a good thing or not. I can see the Truman logic - but I baulk at the slaughter.

Comment from Dean Kuch
A very well written short narrative done in acrostic poetic style, this retelling of the two atomic bombs was very well done. The decision to drop the bombs was a culmination of the reports by several US military high ranking officers about the number of casualties expected to be lost on "X-Day", the invasion of mainland Japan.
Nicely done teafor2!

'Little Boy And Fat man.' I was only a little boy when these bombs were dropped on Japan, but I remember it very vividly. I can also remember the words of the Japanese rear admiral, on their way to Pearl Harbor: "I'm afraid we're awakening a sleeping giant." Well done.

Very interesting poem. Liked the presentation, the color of both the background, and font adds to the poem, as well as the picture. I'm glad you went into detail about the bombs, did not know how many people were killed. Angel Blessings
