Good words here of telling how complete quietness is a heaven send. With all the noise in the world today it's hard to have even a moment of complete silence. Good words with good rhyming that says a lot.

Villanelles are difficult, and therefore satisfying, to write, and you've produced a good one. My only reservation is the use of "veer", there for the rhyme, but which feels wrong.

I haven't read a villanelle in a long time. For me, it is a very difficult poetry format that you have mastered wonderfully.
Your poetry reached the veil of my inner ear. I love that line. I could hear the disrupting sounds you longed to be free from. Almond-shaped tiers seemed to be a play on words, as I could also picture almond-shaped tears. You don't even wish to record your own sounds or your own words, but merely want to reach that place of quietness where you can hear God's still small voice.
Exceptional and moving!

I definitely like tiers. If you had used tears, I wouldn't have the tiers. Now I have both.

yes indeed silence is golden and you poem captured the inner sanctity of that perfectly.
