What I find amazing is how many people get through life without ever really thinking. I like that you have quoted so many well known people and that their accomplishments weren't instantaneous and the fact that many faced ridicule and even persecution for their ideas. Great piece.

Interesting examination of this topic, which will be challenging for many to follow, as you undoubtedly know. It takes work to get thru this read, as it takes work to guide our conscious choices for where we focus our attention. I am an advocate of many of your principles stated here, altho my language for expressing is different in some cases.

I wish you could express this in "every person's language" a bit more. It appears as though you are attached to your stilted manner of expression (your glossary is our first clue). I feel it's better to meet people more than halfway, for the sake of understanding. Better imperfect enlightenment than Honey Boo-Boo. Thanks for sharing.

Different people have different interpretations of the same words. The glossary is meant for my entire book and simply defines the meaning as I interpret it. Thanks...John

I have been told that I overthink or worry too much. I over analyze or attempt to linger on issues longer than most. This is an interesting take on the mind with supporting evidence.

Greetings Cogitator,

Interesting take on the human element. There is a lot to be said about our mental attitude and focusing on positive influences. I especially noted this statement:

"if we have a very strong Positive Mental Attitude, the Negative Mental Attitude will be just as strong - like the opposite poles of a magnet."

I'm not so sure about this. If we train our minds we can overcome anything negative. Your statement seems to say there is an equal amount of good and bad in each person and there is nothing we can do to change it. That is like saying there is too much "good" in a person and there needs to be more "bad" to balance out their lives. Not sure that is feasible... or desirable. ;) Chrisfiore

There is no such thing as good or bad. Things are simply what they are. There is no sin, guilt or any other such thing except for existing in the ego's mind. Thanks for your review...John

Hello. A thorough essay on clear, thought and focus.
I have only one thing to add ...wisdom and compassion go hand inhand...one needs both to progress, well, that is my belief.
But, I am not reviewing my ideas, I am reviewing your writing.
It is a good essay. It gets a little long in quotes, you may not need so many. Sometimes, too many can take the flow away from the piece.
Just a thought.
Have you read the Heart Sutra? I think you may like it.

This is skillfully written on professional level and presents a lot of information. Too much to process in one setting. i found it very informative and challenging.

It is very difficult to summarise your article in a few words, but to say that your essay made eminent sense. You have clearly written this to encourage people to be more knowledgable about what they experience and learn. To do this they need to sit still and examine their truths in a state of calmness. From this new knowledge and creativity arise. I know that my very best writing emerges from a similar calmness, while my most trite and overplayed work emerges from a desire to impress (ego). I found your use of famous people by example very helpful in trying to hang your ideas onto something I understood in some small way. This is beautifully written, well organised and more importantly life giving.

You get it. If we let our consciousness flow, the universe will direct us to why we have it. Thank you...John

Interesting read. We all tap in there when we write.
Some plots are well thought out others appear from the cosmos that we have tapped into.
Often great artists comment on this and they all seem to be wary of questioning this gift for fear of loosing it.
I like your questioning your empathy towards humanity and you are right we do not think long and hard enough before we react sometimes.
I like Dylan's thought about time ," we all keep trying to fill it, but its the one thing we run out of in the end".
Though as you say if life is eternal then we can imagine and change.
Thank you for this thought provoking piece

Your words are kind. If we realize that those who understand must set the example through acts and actions, the followers will also find a higher level. Thank you for your generous review...John

Excellent essay. If you haven't come across it yet, you may wish to check out "Power vs Force" by David R Hawkins to expand your mind, as well as use it as a tool for your book.

You're correct, people want to be PMA PMA PMA, and yet, if we can learn to submit, and be One with Life, we will learn that good or bad, this too shall pass.

We have to learn to accept everything that happens to us. As the Buddha says, all we are is the result of all we have thought.

And it's okay to think too much, I get the same "bad rap" from my circle of friends/family that simply don't want to challenge what they consider as reality. I studied philosophy and english at college and I love 'em both! Talk about left brain vs right brain!

God Bless You!

Props on your message,

Please know that when we communicate with others, there is an immediate difference of UNDERSTANDING. If I cannot help you understand more or better and you are also unable to do that for me, our communication achieves nothing. Your circle needs to rise and there is no need for apology to them. Stop speaking and start listening. Let them come to you for your wisdom...They will. Thanks...John

"I yam what I yam." Popeye, the sailor man. I can find no better word for myself than my screen name - Cogitator. My Rosicrucian name is Cognitor, meaning "defender."
