Some old ways are slow to die. It's difficult to change beliefs, especially when they have been reinforced for years. I grew up on a farm and played with black kids who were the children of one of dad's hired hands.Even though it was in Ohio, it was the sixties and there was plenty of racism around.

Thank you for the kind review. I grew up with racism too. I was in IL, and Blacks weren't allowed in my town.

The chapter advances the story line at a good pace. Paige is becoming acquainted with the 'social system' of the South, and she doesn't like it. Seeing her adjust or not to the system will continue to add suspense to the story.
I enjoyed the read and look forward to the next chapter.

The chapter advances the story line at a good pace. Paige is becoming acquainted with the 'social system' of the South, and she doesn't like it. Seeing her adjust or not to the system will continue to add suspense to the story.

this is very well written, barbara, you did an excellent job writing this chapter where nala sits with paige for lunch but eats her own food, she feeds to puppy so he won't develop bad habits. he doesn't like dr. walker and neither does paige after her hears her talking with nala.
