Hey there!

I wish like anything I could be there, but unfortunately my ticket to Cali says February 22...pooey!I'm going to go visit fam in San Diego. Wish I had time to slip over to Palm Springs while I'm at it, but I know my mom will have a full agenda for us.

Congratulations on the name change. I like it. I always wondered about that. Every time I pulled up Omega Publications it went to that (religious)? weird site. I had to type in Omega + Palm Springs.

I'll be therein spirit!

You can be here for as real as any of us will be. It's a virtual Facebook and Twitter party. I'm so dim about all this, I should have made it clear it's virtual! You know me, I don't have a clue how this stuff works but Jen is going great guns and I'm thrilled with the response.

So, any chance you and Mom and Rob might be talked into meeting me in Temecula for lunch? It's an easy drive, about an hour. Great wines, lovely areas for lunch, and I'd love that. Now, of course, don't get Mom upset, don't mean to horn in on her time. But if y'all are going to have a getaway day, that would be fun! We'll talk more about that!

Nancy, thank you so much. I'd love for Jen to stroll over one day for a chat and a cup of tea. She has good marketing ideas and she's so fun, I know you'll enjoy her. I'll make the intro once we get this launch finished!

On top of everything else, we just got a 9 month old Dobie puppy who has joy and frolic down pat. Man, I'm in shreds, but she makes me laugh, for sure, and strangely safe.

Doesn't matter how good a writer you are, without a sound marketing strategy you will never get anywhere. Since I joined Fanstory, I learned quite a deal about marketing just by observing others. The launch sounds interesting.I will bookmark the dates and swing by for a visit. Good Luck!

I do have a question, Gayle. I went into your publishing website directly, and I didn't see a way to get into the 'party'. Will there be an access to that, or should I try another way in? this is very well written, showboat, it sounds like a whale of a time. i have checked out your website a couple of times over the years but don't have the money to do your publishing package. right now i'd just pay somebody to download my book from my portfolio. i've tried a couple of times and haven't had any luck. i will have to check my schedule and see if i'll be available those days. i pray you reach more than 5000 hits.

I saw the latest photo on your profile page of your darling little munchkin and I must say, poor child doesn't have any toys. ROF, for a moment there I was convinced you'd set him down in the middle of Toys R Us, but no, that's his room, huh? Just darling. What a little doll.

I have not bought him a single one of those toys. His mom is a shopaholic. He has all kinds of other relatives and family friends who love to give gifts. And his mom is a nanny for a four year old who hands over all her expensive toys when she outgrows them. That is why I write him poems. He doesn't need a single other toy from me! LOL :-)

Hi Showboat. Good command of voice and grammar. Sounds like it'll be a hell of a party. Only a few suggestions: Staff, so things with her will stay the same--weak noun, might reword with something more concrete such as staff, so business with her will stay the same. Be there or be square!--cliche. Wish I could attend, but will be working sixteen hour days as organizer and MC at the San Gabriel Valley Literary Festival during these days. Good read. Cliff

Hi Gale. It's located on the West Covina Library and Civic Center grounds, about 45 minutes ride on my motorcycle from Palm Springs, or an hour in a car. I ride very fast. Sure, giveaway books would be great. Makes for good promotions. You live in Palm Springs? One of my favorite restaurants and dancing clubs is The Nest, just this side of Palm Desert. Cliff

Ah, so. Neighbors! At least in Cali! We're in West Palm Springs - watch the tram cars go up and down. I know the Nest by its great reputation but tend to hang in our neck of the woods - no DUIs in our future, lol. We have great restaurants, anything you could want, and our little village is really quite quaint. We've got this huge statue of Marilyn Monroe in a lot on Palm Canyon and you wouldn't believe the tourists around that corner, taking pictures. Cool.

Well, if you're ever heading out this way, give me a buzz and maybe we can meet down town for drinks! Look forward to that,

I am at a loss to figure out if this is an ad for a real publishing company, or a creative writing exercise for someone aspiring to write copy for an advertising firm. I'm an old guy so it's entirely possible that this is clear as a bell to young people but is simply going over my head. Whatever the case, I've read lots of ad copy in my lifetime and this is perfectly adequate.
