I liked your concept about describing the comforts in a "ball of yarn". You reinforced the sensations with your picture choice and the echoing "un" sounds and other alliterations. Hugs- Joan

I love the listing of babies know, cats know, I know...
good alliteration in mundane and meaningful
and the pairing of undulating unbound
good alliteration in soaring steamy
love the mood yo create as the wool wraps peace
great use of verbs to bring this scene to life as the wool bends and dances and threads
It pause me - pauses
I am laughing out loud at the conclusion - this is so worth a six but I have none :-) Brooke

Catching title and picture you chose for this poem. The way you wrote this free verse it appealed to all my senses. And I loved it to be about cats. Best wishes for the contest.

To be able to take such a mundane thing as yarn and write a lovely little verse about it is a mark of an imaginative poet. You are such a poet my friend.

LOL Spoken like a true kitten. :) I must admit that all of the ways you celebrate a ball of yarn makes me want to rethink the next time I bring a gift to a baby shower. Ha! Wouldn't that be a hoot, getting stares and glares from all of the women? But this wonderful poem proves your point: it's NOT just a piece of yarn. :)

Life does heighten our senses when we start thinking about something. Around here these past few days talking about yarn as been a regular conversation. As some are needed for a grandchild in a school project. Well written and blessings, Jo

My dear friend, one thing I know for sure that
the simple things are sometimes the best. I love
my wool blankets that my mother or grandmother
knitted for me.
I love your poem dear amada, it brought back
sweet memories of my wool blankets.

Warm and cozy feeling created by the great description
of the comfortable wool blanket knitted with soft yarn.
Excellent poem, simple subject with great imagery. Love it.
