This is an interesting version of what happened to Saul. You did a great job with the description while building drama throughout the story. Thanks for sharing

This is really a first-rate rendering of Paul's conversion, and the disbelief that still clung to him, even after having his sight taken and the restored to him. Little did he realize what an inspiration he would be to the budding Christian Church, how many he would convert to belief in Jesus, and what a lasting effect he would have on all of the generations to follow.
Great rendition, irish

Hiya, Irish. Thank you so much for this generous and supportive review. I love your insights here. We, all of us, never know what God can make of us, I believe, until we are rendered powerless. That's why I think Paul's story is so affecting.

    Great to hear from you!

    Warmest regards,

Your style of writing is excellent. This was quite an imaginative account of the Bible story, certainly not the typical interpretation of what happened. In Acts chapter nine, the account indicates that those who accompanied him took him into the city. Other that that, the rest of your story could have happened according to scripture.

Your narrative is gripping, especially at the beginning, but the striking down of Saul seemed a bit lame: "and he fell to the ground." The italicized paragraph a few paragraphs earlier puzzled me for a while because I wasn't sure who was thinking that or if it was narrative. The rest of the story was great. I'd love to read more of your writing.

Hello, W2I. Thanks for this very generous and helpful review. I totally agree with you on that section and have picked a bit stronger verb choice.

I did much of my research online, and found that some scholars feel that Paul's conversation did not happen in a single stroke, but over a period of time. Of course, that would make him a liar which I don't believe, for a minute, he was.

    Thanks again!

An excellent account of how Saul's conversion may have taken place. Your vivid descriptions of the gathering storm as God's presence is great. The carry through to the healing and actual conversion brings good closure to your writing.

Writingfundimension:

I loved how you couched this so carefully in what
one would assume was a fictionalized setting prior
to allowing the reader to see the story was about
Saul of Taursus. I believe it adds to the story
and that more people will read it this way.

thanks for sharing

I liked this story greatly. It gives some more insight into the Christian story of Saul and holds the interest of both Christians and non- Christians. Very well done.

I truly enjoyed the read. You carried me off to another time. When Ananias came to the house of Jude, I found myself totally immersed, waiting at the door with Nadine. LOL! I was almost surprised to find myself back at the computer when I raised my eyes. LOL!

I've always loved the story of St. Paul, on the road to Damascus. It's the perfect example of transformation - a truth that changes a life.
Well done, Bev. I so enjoyed this. I'd better be able to give you a six! Yeah!!!

Hiya, buddy. Thank you so much for this awesome review. I've always been fascinated by St. Paul's story, too. Though some have posited that his conversion was more gradual, I like the drama of the version Paul gave testimony to better LOL. You have really put a smile on my face with your thoughtful and generous reveiw, my friend. Hugs, Bev
