HI, This is a very nice poem and I love the message and the fact it is a sonnet, However I think you need to know that line three is really off meter Da-dum, da dum, da dum, da dum, da dum. Meter has been hard for me to conquer as well but makes all the difference in a sonnets' sound.
I don't have a suggestion. You syllable count is right on but it makes you stumble. Lovely poem though. (^_^) Nancy

I struggled with that line for a long time and the way I would say it is different than how others read it. I will work on it some more. Thanks so much-I am still struggling!!! Debbie

It sounds like a lot to ask, but this sounds like what

You know, I'm snagging your line "Creation of a life of love and grace" and running with it. I'm not sure how many would see that line as powerfully as I do. It simply says to me that if we were to all raise decent children, most everything else in this poem would follow. I'm not sure you were going there with it, but I did. :)
