Thought provoking and powerful. When we face ourselves, our true selves those moments can be soul reaching, an inner awakening that helps us grow into ourselves as we age.
I enjoyed this one, I've had moments like this so I connected well with your thoughts. Great work through out, thanks for sharing.
Happy Holidays and good luck in the contest.

Superb. I adore the way you came at this one. Your muse is a strong one. I've seen what he can do when he gets going. And yes - no pretence - gotta meet he/she/them in a totally natural and open state of mind.

Mind you, Ingrid. I wouldn't step out of my front door naked today. It's a wee bit chilly.

Hugs,

Av

Oh, by the way - a wee bit of spag in the title:

'Beginning'.

It wa f-ing freezing and I'm sick. What else is new? Seems like every year I get sick....a subconcious wish to not participate.

Have a good holiday. I'll have your novel in my brain. ingrid

Spiritual Echo:

That's the thing about our muse, isn't it? He/She
knows everything about us and can cut through the
pretensions no matter what we do. I liken it to
my time talking with Jesus - He knows all about
me, loves me anyway, and it surely feels like home
when I feel His presence.

thanks for sharing
good luck in the contest

This works on so many levels. It is honest and open but, as usual, you are much too hard on yourself. Welcome home.

A beautiful write with a powerful ending. Make-up and clothes are not the true self.
I sat on the floor on my side of truth. I felt the warmth seep through the armour, the shield that protected me from the elements.

In that climatic moment, you came eye to eye with your soul. I love it. In all your writes, every word counts.
Darn! I've already given you my sixes for the month. Sigh.
Well, I can still cast a vote.
Hugs,
Shari

You have it, dear one. The older I get, the more I "become."

Hi Spiritual Echo,

Imaginative indeed and your ending so unexpected. I loved the line...Somehow I knew this meeting would change everything. Simple words, yes, but I believe they have meaning. I enjoyed your story very much and wish you the best in this contest. Thank you so much for sharing.

This interesting narrative vividly describes what happens when one finally meets herself is a no-makeup, no-holds-barred encounter.

Your story is interesting and engaging. It had me hooked from the beginning. It made me think about my muse. I have never thought of it as he or she; I think of it as a gender less IT. I found that when I am creating characters and their dialogue for my novels, I draw on everything I know about the female gender. I am challenged to make the women and girls as realistic as possible. Occasionally, I will create a female character with a Tom Boy attitude.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I made me stop and think.

Godspeed,
Curtis

    Thanks for reading.

I am a woman who was forced into a very tough role of leading through dtrength and that often strangled my softness and gentle side, but still a writer needs to uderstand scarifices and the cost of an educayion.

Hi Spiritual E, what an enjoyable read. You took me on a small journey of the uncertainty and venerability we all feel at times, but to have the realization of just wanting to be who you are and to be accepted that way, stole the show for me. Well written and good luck in the contest. Beautiful message. Kindest wishes to you and your loved ones. James x
