Hi MIke,

I wasn't online at all yesterday and have little time today. Having said that this is an absorbing story. Some of it I already know but your take on life is wonderful. You have been through so much but putting it to paper is cleansing to the soul. Well written and compelling....chey

It isn't really cleansing to the soul, in fact the conclusion makes my heart heart as I desired a much more positive message to present, instead of the stark reality I believe God wanted me to present. That's not only my explaination, but my story and I am sticking to it, because I wanted that much more hopeful ending.

It pains me to split the chapters up like I do on Fanstory, as I wanted enough space to title it, Visionary Footsteps and Gefilte Fish. Becasue of the final story, this part of the chapter is a bit of a summarization and also a briding portion to head to my last adventure and the conclusion. While I don't feel my soul is very cleansed, it is happy! I am exhausted as this turned out to be a three year project of total committment.

I thank you so much for this review. Mike

As I read and glanced at your picture by the memorial to Poe, I wonder how many times you have lingered there saying "Nevermore". I suspect you save the best for last -- can't wait to get into the Gefilte!

LOL, No I don't hang around Poe's grave, but it is funny as after that day there and at the house, I always seem to have a sense of him. Real or imaginary, I do find it a comfort.

No, the best is second to last I fear. I enjoyed this review and thank you for it. Mike

A very well done work. Each time I come reading I pick something from your write but today I'm delighted to pick "I think the best thing I picked up in life is also the best one to relay, "Dreams don't die!" and will come back into your life even though circumstance dictated you shelve them; provided you never forget about them. I wanted to be a mountaineer and explorer, to wade through a frozen hell with that possibility I will die. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! I felt that is an important message to get out as so many people tend to leave what they put behind them and give up. I look at not doing so, as a way to occupy one's remaining time. I enjoyed this review and what you go out of it. Mike

Of writing, scouting and sadness ... We follow one man's spiritual and intellectual growth as he accepts various challenges in his life.

Great descriptions, I enjoyed reading about a heritage that is such an important factor in your life. Your story provided good insight into the Jewish way of life and what it means to you. I noticed that it sounded like a perfunctory list of events at some points. Maybe you could try to elaborate more on certain issues or choose the most important points of your narrative and leave out the one's with less significance. Good luck!

The elaboration does happen, but in later posts of the chapter as I have to split things up to post her. I consider this one a bridging part of the chapter and in this case, sums up the aspects of my life that is required for the rest of it.

Well read on, I appreciate the Jewish side of things, but I am not kosher to them in the end. I feel lucky as I have gotten a lot out of all the religions, which actually provides me with the faith that God actually exists. I thank you for this review as I enjoyed it! Mike
