I think I know you , yes you're the doodle addict , always defining lines and shaded places feathering strokes between the spaces . Note that if it weren't for diddle and doodles , how could a concept ever be achieved ? A seed must be planted in the young minds so they can contribute and who best for the job than an aspiring teacher ! Thank you dear , a truly great work that you've shared . Randy

I simply loved this piece you have a unique ability to weave a story. I tell stories but have to admit you are a bit better at it. As I wander a bit through uncertainty you always stay on course. The artwork as always was a great compliment to the piece. I especially liked the line Believe, achieve their path conceive. found a litle of what drives me inside of these worda. That and you have to let your dreams breathe otherwise they die, They are much like flowers, you need to nuture them and give them light and water to ensure they still grow. Have a great day and superb read my friend:) Mark

Amazing how many families are destroyed when parents and children have different visions of the child's future. So very sad that parents' concern for their child's "success" often obscures their concern for their child's happiness. We stated, CG. :) nancy

You are so right, CG, I wanted so much to be a pianist, but my parents couldn't afford the lessons. My friend had them and she hated them! So not fair. I agree with every word of your poem, we must allow our children the freedom to find they destiny. I made sure mine did, and now they are doing the same for their children. Well written and a brilliant read. xsx Sandra

Train them to study and believe
That all their dreams, they can achieve.

I really do believe the core message of your poem. This poem tells a sad story and ends up with a deep and profound lesson. Thanks for sharing this wisdom!;)

Our heart dreams are very important.

Wanting to be a teacher or doctor whatever

Encouragement from family, teachers is necessary.

We don't know if we will be good at something

Until we try and read about .

As parents we should show an interest

In what our children want and help them.

Yep....been there, done that..unemployed miserably. I have the same problem...I'm just not that good at anything and I should have at least given my one true love, singing, a shot when I was young enough to have made a go of it. It's a little late...oh, I take it back..I have been an excellent mother.

Nice to know someone else is going through this..besides me..

Never under estimate the POWER of an excellent mother. I wish I had one! I believe that if we do our jobs well as mothers, God will reward us in the Eternal life. Jesus lived a life of self-sacrifice and so do good mothers. Our rewards are eternal, we just have to persevere on earth. :)

My friend, you are a winner in my book; you penned a profound and thought provoking poem and it's something that I personally could relate to; I too wanted to be an attorney but ended up being an engineer because of my parent's wish and push; I agree with your superb reflections...the last couplet summed it up pretty well; thank you very much.

Thank you for a lovely review. I have 2 sons who are studying to become engineers, I was hoping one would become a Dr - but no. They both want to be engineers. So be it. We have recently had a famous lawyer in our coutry, commit suicide, at the age of 42. I suspect that he may have got a guilty man 'off the hook' and had problems thereafter... hate mail, public snubbing and guilt. On the other hand I have a cousin overseas, who is a highly successful lawyer (in business) and he is exceedingly RICH! LOL!
    Thanks for the lovely review.
