This was fun. I'm pleased I went back to the beginning. Excellent double entendre for 'a killing at the races. '

I love the artwork that you choose to go with your poem.
And I love how your poem told a story which had my attention from the first line to the last.
Thank you for sharing this wacky silly poem.

OH my gosh. This was adorable. It has a very Suess-esque quality to it. I think that this could make a very nice children's story.

I see why you won. It's a very interesting poem. There were so many little twists that reminded me of other childhood tales, but it has a nice little dark side to it. I enjoyed this piece immensely. Well done!

Thank you, HD. Glad you enjoyed - yes, the bunny-eating means it's maybe not for small children.

OMG, this is the best poem I've seen in the humor category since I joined FanStory almost four months ago! The tale is adorable and witty, the rhyme and meter not only perfect, but perfect for the story your poem tells, and you could not have chosen a better presentation. I am only sorry I don't have a six for this BRILLIANT bit of nonsense!

Dawn, thanks so much for the high praise and the virtual six. Glad you enjoyed my weaselly reprobate. I tried searching for some suitable picture on googl but surprisingly they didn't have a weasel with crimson whishers and yellow feathers wearing bright blue braces!

I loved this poem. I see that you won the contest, and I understand why! Was not too happy about the bunny though? Good presentation. Good flow. Thank you so much for sharing this winning poem!

    Thank you, AB.
Sorry, but the bunny had to go. If it's any consolation, he wasn't a very nice bunny - he played around and cheated on his loyal bunny wife with Ms Slutty Bunny in the next burrow.

I absolutely love this poem. I can see why it won the contest -- did anyone else even stand a chance after this was posted LOL. I'm keeping this for repeat viewing. Warm regards, Bev

I love the picture. I love the poem At least one made a killing at the races. I love your main character. I would love to see a toy made out of him. We just won't tell the kids he eats bunnies for dinner. Great work.

    Thanks, ej.
Like you, I grew quite fond of Cheezel, even though he was a rabbit-eating old reprobate.

I loved this nonsense poem. I have not stopped chuckling, but still felt sorry for the rabbit jockey.

The last line was priceless, and so well thought out.

Congratulations on being the winner, it was certainly deserved.

Great job, thanks for sharing.
