This was a wonderfully tender poem, my friend. Sometimes I forget that you're old enough to have sons fighting for our country's freedom. So you must be around thirty-nine instead of twenty-nine. :) You started rhyming, but you abandoned it. Then your return to it at the end. Doesn't bother me. Just stating it, wondering if the rhyming was even intentional.

I don't know either, just had to get it down. I am fifty one in real life, won't even go where that is in dog years. Thanks for the wonderful review. When ever I write poetry I'm kind of like a blind man in a round room trying to find the corner. :)

Every word resonates in my heart...and that of every single mom I guess. We hold our babies in our hands and our lives are transformed forever. They will always remain our little ones.....however, old they are.

Thank you. I haven't seen my son in four Christmases. I know I miss him more than anything but this site helps me express it and through the feed back I know there are others going through the same or worse.
