Thi is an outstanding story, Janilou. It's not often I find anything to nit-pick in your writing, but this time I got lucky. YOur opening line has an opportunity for tightening.
Recently, I caught up with an old friend of mine for lunch. (wordiness. cut 'of mine'

Your story reminds us that America can be the land of the free. It is a very real story. I think the moral code of Americans are, give and take and when that happens doors open wide. There were other truisms in your piece. I have learned from experience that those souls on their deathbeds become overwhelmed with the urge to live because they have still so much to do. As for the personal loan from the bank manager that too was a miracle. Usually bankers are only interested in massive sums. Your banker was a true Samaritan.
So while there is life and good people, there is hope.

Hello again Jan. It is so good to see you posting again. Heavenly Father blesses us when our heart's desires are of a loving nature. I do not believe it was accidental that this all came to be as it did. Your faith and prayers were heard and felt

This is such a heart warming story to read. It touches me more than you will ever know. It had the perfect ending, to say the least.
I, too, have an incurable illness, but I don't have a bucket list, but I have a few goals left for the remainder of my life. When diagnosed in 2006, the first thing I turned over to God, was to let me live long enough to see my six Grandsons graduate from high school. Well, so far so good. Two have done so, with two more graduating this spring. One is a Sophomore and one is a Freshman in high school. So, I'm well on my way.
Another thing I've asked, is for God to help me use my creative abilities the best way I can. I am, also, doing that. That's part of the reason why I'm on this website.
You did a good job on this story. I hope your friends is still living and enjoying every minute of every day God gives her, just as I am.

I think this is a beautiful and pretty amazing story. These most amazing acts of human kindness overwhelm me. The generosity of so many in this true account is quite astounding, and we can see examples of such kindness every day of the week if we look for them.

Woooow!! I love how much hope you spread all over with this. You're simply the living proof that miracles do happen and that if you want something desperately enough you will get it eventually. Not only have you proved that this is true, but also you completely astonished me with the amount of miracles that had happened in such short time! Truly amazing and I'm saying this as a reader - one can only guess what the feeling of actually living through all of this is. Wonderful work! :)
