Falling to the Underworld of Rejection, The Door to the Elders looms before me. This is some doom and gloom my friend like a darkened cauldrun.
Scorched earth policy indeed, way to go!

Great story and you certainly took me with you. I enjoyed it and found it easy to follow. My only thought is we all fail when it comes to be judged. Hopefully we get a pass for trying.

Maybe it's time the doors were smashed down and the elders faced up to. The great struggle is going on with the inner mind, a struggle for freedom. Take heart, my friend, the struggl is only withi you. Your poem has a very passionate cry for help. Giddy

I read your "introduction" and yes, this is quite haunting! I had no trouble visualizing the scenario and could almost feel myself waiting; longing at the door...

Very nice poem, I enjoyed the flow and the rhythm. It is the perfect time for some darkness being so close to Halloween and all. I did not see any obvious spelling errors.

I love how you incorporate most of the senses....the smell of sulfur...the texture of the door. The picture helps tell the story...you did a really good job with this.

The poet has found the door to the Elders and is on the brink of finding wisdom. The Elders thrive on the insanity of those who have called before.
Thunder claps are heard as the moment of judgement approaches.
Cheers,
DW

Ask and you will be given.
Seek and you will find.
Sounds like a pack of crappy prima Donna elders to me if they aren't willing to impart knowledge to some hapless soul.
Of course there is the part about casting pearls to swine.
You choose.

Again this is a poem that has my mind twisting to understand it - just when I think all becomes clear, you somersault - my example? This: "As I am struck down by the Gargoyles of Denial, I catch a glimpse of success." (You have not succeeded.) "Falling to the Underworld of Rejection, The Door to the Elders looms before me." Are you about to begin your quest again? Again I can rate it no lower than a five on mastery of language and drama alone.
