Good scene. You've done an excellent job of creating intrigue here. And I like how the tension is slowly building up. Your descriptive paragraphs are really well-written giving the reader lots to "see". And, the dialogue is extremely well done. The whole piece moves along at a good pace. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

I wonder if the father was friendly with that PENN STATE COACH. Well at least your story take the heat off the football team that had nothing to do with a rather old incident. Yes ,they chose to retire in the middle of the scandal because they knew about Monsignor Flaherty's crimes and didn't want to get caught with their pants down. LOL

Monsignor Flaherty is a based on a real priest who was found to have continued his pedophile activities after being shuffled off to the wilds of Minnesota.

Thanks for your great review, Dustybones. Appreciate the support. Warm regards, Bev

I am so appalled that anyone would even think of that crime.
It is one of those idea's ANY person would never even think about . ANd for the # of priests that have been discovered is so so sick for me to imagine that ppl have trusted God to keep the alters clean.

I feel just as you do, D. I know of folks that continued to attend services but severely cut back on their financial support after the scandals. Sometimes, that's the only way to get the changes accomplished. Take care, Bev
