This is indeed a powerful story that engaged the reader throughout. Everything comes together perfectly, with no distractions. You suggest that sometimes people have to suspend their disbelief and like Aggie realize that Grandpa was with Quint in spirit as he was competing in the swimming meet. Aggie has the photos with the blue orb over Quint's head to make her a believer. I think she was right to keep that information just between her and her brother. I'm glad I've got a six-star rating remaining. judi

I see spiritual fiction from you, and I think "YES!" You rock at this stuff. Sure enough, you suck the reader in right away. : o)

But I got the impression they were going to wait until morning to talk with Grampa's - should this be Grandpa?

I regret my promise not to involve mom. "Obviously you fell asleep and had a dream, Quint. It's a classic example of wish-fulfillment." - AHA! I'm familiar with THAT concept.

My cat, Clarice, suddenly sits up from a dead sleep, arches her back and hisses in the direction of my bedroom doorway. I juggle the phone in one hand and reach to calm her, but she won't let me touch her.- Okay. I have to tell you. Just as I read this bit, my bloody phone rang. I jumped so high, said a very bad word and almost peed my pants. Still have goose-bumps.

It was my son, if you're wondering.

Cars line both sides of the street in front of my parent()'s house.

Wow.

Wow.

Wow.

This was just fabulous, Bev. You KNOW I believe in this stuff. I KNOW you do.

Excellent read. Thoroughly enjoyed it. No sixes for you, I'm afraid.

BUT... Love ya!

I so enjoyed this, Bev - such a
touching, heart-felt story, which
was a real pleasure to read. Still
can't give you a six.

I have a very open mind about such things,
and have experienced a couple of things in
life that have kept me believing.

Hi Bev,

Interesting story, I can sympathise with the brother. After an experience like that you don't need a smartass sister giving you the psychobabble.

Good dialogue, great narrative.

I loved this sweet and simple story. So glad his grandpa was with him at the end. Just one nit:
"even when we don't Quint" - add comma before Quint.

What a tremendous story, sad but excellent. You brought me back to things I had blocked out of my mind for years. It is good though, they need to be processed. I will recommend this piece to other readers. Thank you for the internal release and the honor of reading this beautiful story.

No, but I am fighting through it. I am not giving anyone the satisfaction of seeing me miserable just because they are.

What a special story, Bev. Who knows? Maybe this could very well happen. However, I bet once we transfer over to the spirit world, we probably won't even want to return to this an imperfect world with its competitiveness.

From our human perspective, though, this is a wonderful story. Love it. :o)

Thank you so much, April. You make a very good point! But I think once we've made our transition, we can can come and go, helping where we're allowed. But I certainly can't say that's the way it is for sure! I really apprecate your generous review and support, my friend.

struggling to accept my Grandfather's transfer - grandfather's - not used as his name in this line
Excellent natural-sounding dialogue that conveys well the emotions of the speakers
my parents's house - parents'
he envelopes me in his arms - envelops
we should show this to mom and dad - Mom and Dad - in this sentence Mom and Dad are used as their names
A wonderfully poignant ending to a well-told story - I really felt the love between this brother and sister, at the end as they laugh but also while he is telling her about seeing Grandfather and she is trying to talk him out of it :-) Brooke
