The poet has immortalized the event of theatre nine.wel , it must be forgotten not to remember, but bitter realities can not be denied.Actually the theatre became the the house of the devil,Batman. The picture was actually shown by the poet, images are also clear to create the picture.Language is simple and appropriate.

Strong acrostic for Theatre Nine
good use of rhyme
compelling image of the devil wearing a gas mask
good alliteration in clear that killing
good proximate rhyme of flight and alike
A moving tribute to the victims of this horrific tragedy :-) Brooke

So you are from Colorado as well. I grew up in Cortez, CO, but am in Hawaii now. I have written other tragedies of Colorado- Donner Pass, Sandcreek Indian Massacre, Columbine High School Massacre, Jon Benet Ramsey. My beloved state has such a bloody history- breaks my heart. Where do you live now?
Great acrostic that gave just enough detail of the incident without being overly graphic. Very intelligent and heartfelt piece. Thank you for such a memorable tribute. Holly

Not surprising that this has achieved
recognized status. As a memorial it does
what it is meant to do, draw attention.
Bless them all.

What a sad story (real story) to remember. This poem of yours is a tribute so that the story will remain forever in the hearts of those affected and even those not affected. prayers really helped.

The artwork is real appropriate to the message. And the Acrostic style is very well done. It is one of my favorite kind of poetry. The other one is the rhymes poetry. This poem of yours captures both.

Excellent job.

Some say we need tighter gun control. I think so too, but we'll NEVER have security so tight that a lunatic can't act. Your poem is heart-wrenching and well-written.

I feel so sorry, going to the movies will never be the same again. One person killed and injured so many, yet he is alive. You will be sure he will end up in Hell.

Thanks for sharing this, Heidi. Such a creative image and poem for such a painful topic.
Even the colors you've chosen for font and background are thoughtful.
One minor concern: Should the line read "Tear gas was thrown out (into) the darkness..."
I'm so sorry this was in your hometown--unfortunately, it could have been any of ours.
I think the question we need to start asking our leaders is why any civilian is allowed to have the capacity for mass destruction this person had.
You and the people of Aurora are in my prayers.
Stacia

Thankyou for this piece of work that focuses on the tragedy, not the film. You write touchingly about those who died. Our thoughts are with their poor families
