This is great and very informative, especially for others also having the same health issues. You described everything accurately and seem to maintain a positive attitude about your situation....that is always a big PLUS!;))
Our brain releases all this chemicals at times of distress that are detrimental to our body, the opposite happens when we maintain a feeling of serenity. It must be very difficult, but looks like you are successfully keeping your sense of peace despite the odds. Continued blessing to you!;)

God bless, Barbara!

I just happened to stumble upon your text (I write mostly poetry, so I prefer not to review prose), but there is a good reason why it happened...

I had breast cancer 18 years ago and had to undergo the same treatments you mention. Yeahhh! I understand well, very well, your comments and concerns.

TRUST! That your body will soon resume its natural state of balance and health. Do not regard yourself as a "cancer victim", or health failure stricken - our body "knows" how to recover if our minds_hearts are set to it.

From my experience, there is nothing like a positive, healthy attitude (thoughts, mind, emotions, set of beliefs, self-image) to bring us to the inner balance that will favor and command whole balance. TRUST! With an unfailing heart.

Blessings!

Stay strong and positive, no matter what the outcome. I find comfort in the fact that Life itself is a terminal disease. No one gets out of here ''alive''... Therefore I don't believe in death.

As one who has personally experienced ''near death'' situations, I know today that death is only relevant to the material world, a limited concept. It's just a change of venue for the eternal spirit. The spirit lives forever in undying states of consciousness...

peace and blessings to you.
cheers

Hi, Barbara, I've never known people as positive as you (and Sasha AKA Smurphgirl). You have a great sense of humor too. Read the subtitle on swallowing, menopause, and more ...:) I've been suffering (no, experiencing) some health problems for the last 3 months, now I feel ashamed for whining...:) This is a great write and I'm so glad you decided to write and post it! God bless you for being so strong and positive.

This is a great piece of writing. My favorite part is:
My husband, Brian, and I spent a few days at Corpus Christi, TX. He thought it would be nice for me to get away and relax. I agreed I could use some time-off. Within minutes after we arrived, I realized Corpus Christi was not the right place for me. I take anywhere from seventeen to eighteen pills a day, depending on the day. Every pill states to stay out of the sun and the heat. My radiologist has told me to keep my right side out of the sun. I spent about twenty minutes at a time wading in the Gulf, then we would do something inside, like a museum. I still enjoyed the gulf, just a little at a time.

Thanks for the update. I stopped having chemo in 1996 and still have side effects. Only recently when I saw a neurologist did I learn that some of the symptoms I have are a result of the chemo....I guess doctors didn't think it important to inform me of this fact.

I have a constant tingling and hot/cold feeling in my feet which cause me considerable problems walking. My fingers are fine. This is from so much chemo. I also have difficulty swallowing. My back itches constantly. I have a wooden back-scratcher in every room. I cannot get my blood pressure checked without having a panic attack because it hurts too much. Flying is okay as long as it is not a long flight. I flew to England from Seattle once and had a severe case of edema in my legs and feet. It took three weeks before I could wear shoes again. Other than the above, I'm doing pretty good. I enjoyed this and found it quite informative. God Bless and continue to keep us posted on your progress.

I completely understand. When my doctor when over the side effects, he never mentioned the lasting ones. I had to probe the answers from him. I am the type that researches then askes millions of questions until I get an answer. Thank you for the kind review

Informal or not, this is a great post. I am glad you are doing as well as you are. Just pace yourself. I am familiar with these side effects as my father had cancer and was treated with chemotherapy. He had many of the same after effects. I say sadly, he did not beat the cancer, but handled it as best as he could. My prayers are with you. Stay strong and positive. I know you must realize each day is a blessing which God gives you. Take care and get plenty of rest. God bless you and your family.

P.S. Yes, the kittens look innocent and so cute.

The kittens are NOT innocent, they were just on my table tearing up the napkins in the holder. I think I feel a poem coming on. LOL Thank you for the kind review.

Your Cancer Update here sounds very promising. All in all, you seem to be doing much better. Thanks for sharing this with us. You have and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. One correction: You wrote: about some one's cancer ... some one's should be one word ... someone's
