Hi Barbara,

How thoughtful of you to give us this update. Like many others on the site, I have held you in my prayers and have often wondered how you are doing. You have a wonderful, positive attitude, which is definitely a plus. May God continue to bless you in many ways.

Hugs and blessings,
Lois

I guess there is something to be said for incurable, Barbara. I don't worry about the cancer coming back. LOL Thanks for the update. This write was very informative for me. I appreciate you giving such an informative update.

Very thorough and I relate to many of your issues. My breast cancer is still in remission (I had 26 lymph nodes removed),and I have been blessed to not have any lymphedema.

I started chemo for the myeloma five mos. ago, and have had crippling neurapathy in my feet. So I am on 7 wks of no treatment to get the neurapathy under control. (key issue is the cycles have been successful and brought my numbers down. Hope they stay that way for awhile. I am on some kind of chemo, whether aggressively or maintenance, for the rest of my life. Just pray for quality to finally come. I'm a scrapper and keep defying the odds. I think you are too. :)

It was discouraging to hear you have permanent issues with yours. It has been so horrible, at times, and isolating for me. Then side effect of shingles, but only once for now I take medication. You are right about taking meds for the side effects. I think it is part of the whole thing. I would imagine there are other readers that are going to appreciate this update and information.

It was great to hear, all in all, life is very good for you. Bravo and I suggest just live each day and don't think about tomorrow. Easy for others to say, I know. I have trouble with that myself some days. You are blessed with a great job and are able to get out and contribute so much to the lives of young people. that is really great. I have a feeling you are going to be just fine.

No review on this piece as don't think it was written for that. Appreciated your details and I hope, with time, some of the issues will get better for you.

Continue to be a survivor. God bless. Joyce

My prayers continue for you. I understand. Although, my cancer is in remission, it was very aggressive and they treated it aggressively, hence the reason for the side effects. I appreciate your insight.

I really enjoyed sharing this tiny glimpse of your journey with you. I cannot imagine how difficult it is.

The writing detail is remarkable and just slightly heartbreaking. What a nasty disease.

I respect your skill with words and the heart you show through them.

You're in my prayers too.

Wow, what an ordeal you have been through Barbara and come through with high spirits. Good on you!! The whole experience is a huge challenge and the numb fingers and toes would drive me crazy and the tingling even crazier. So did you find it difficult to get back to typing again? Thank goodness you didn't have dental problems. No pizza or spaghetti, YIKES. Those are staple foods, especially pasta. Ha ha familiar with all the bathrooms in the area.

I love your description of the side effects of the medications. When you hear the contraindications of these drugs it's enough to scare the bejeebers out of you.

Good write with a heaping dollop of humour and matter of fact information. All the best to you! Glad you are back and up and at it.

Barbara,
It's horrible to get cancer. I had fybroid tumors that were cancerous and after my hisderctomy I was bruised bad and some leg lumphnodes were injured which lead to me being a mystery diagnossis and now I have Lymphadema in my legs, feet, toes. I like what you penned:
"Lymphedema or swelling: I lost 16 lymph nodes due to breast cancer. I'll have these problems for the rest of my life. My school district is sending me to a training in Keystone, CO the end of June and first of July. There are certain precautions I need to follow in order to fly. I'll have to wear a compression sleeve and glove on my right arm and hand. Since I live at sea level in TX and Keystone is 9000 feet up in the mountains, I'll struggle with the change in elevation. I'm determined not to have problems and enjoy my trip."
I'll be right back to finish. Love ya...Melissa.

This work has reached the exceptional level

I somewhat new on this site, compared to many did not know you were fighting cancer. I sorrow over your situation, while at the same time wish to share this and not offend. Pleaser read with an open mind and heart. I mean well by it.

These words from my brother Jesus; "Thou must be like a child to enter the kingdom of heaven."

Many who say they understand the bible and know it, really don't know how to truly apply it to this world.

Mankind/natural men and women, know not how to become as a child, after being an adult for 40 to 50 years, and thus comes in the diseases, that decay our bodies and minds that strips away our memories and desires of this world. Many fight it as you have and I commend you for your efforts, but truth is many fear death.

Have you ever asked yourself why Jesus is the perfect similitude of how one's soul should be facing death? His silence during his trial and his meekness during his ridicule before being nailed to the cross, represents all who are of God and not this world, must suffer so one soul becomes as a child, through natural process of diseases and sickness before their free will leaves this body behind and moves on to the next stage of our eternal life.

Forgiving of all who have trespassed against you within your lifetime and to even forgive come up those who are God's children.

My step-mother was a boss of a company for over 47 years and never took any guff off of anyone. Very strong-willed, opinionated woman. She had dementia and Alchemies the last two years of her life, but I was only with her the last six months as I and my wife took care of her. Her whole demeanor was as a child. Loving, meek and mellow and filled with humility. These are traits of the Father, where she is going next. She would sit for hours silent, and this I have learned is where our Father works within the mind and prepares one to cross over.

You are a superb writer and though I read not or review not any of your works, for I care not much for romance novels. Your writing may one day suffer and thus may you reflect on this from the bible, at that time and cope willingly;

1 John, 15, 16.
15. Love not the world, neither the things that are of the world. If any man/woman love the world, the love of the Father is not in them.

16. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Thus ones life must overcome this world of all things, if they wish not to return here and return back to our Father's kingdom, for he has many mansions and earth is not one of them.

May you read this and not be offended, but may a light shine in that has not touched your mind as of yet, on how death comes upon us all. Blessed are any who can find that childhood at the end, without suffering, for they are truly blessed. Not all are of God, no matter what the church's preach. Now you know why Jesus hung around the sick and dying of the populace, and this statement; What is last shall be first and what is first shall be last.

In life, the sick and dying are last in the eyes of the world, but many of them will be first in our Father's heaven, as they have been removed from partaking of this world many love and will keep returning until their soul learns. That is what an old soul is. One that has had many lives, but keeps returning until they find the right truth, that's not taught in man's church's. Yet learned through the silence within our mind as the Father teaches those who seek him and no one else.

God bless and this is a definite six. May you have read this with a grain of salt.
