It is so true what your poem says. I go out walking and look around me thinking of what I can write about today. Usually it is about what is happening in my life. I find writing a poem soothes my soul and seem to make things go easier. I loved your poem.

Thank you so much for the review. It is hard to find a topic we can write about. It soothes my soul too.Nancy

An artistically structured poem
which floats down the screen telling
a tale of how poems are born in the
dead of the night where powers beyond
our comprehension place words yet
unspoken into our heads to place
upon the screen.
Well done

Nancy, this is humorous, but at times it can drive
you crazy when you can't sleep for the words coming.
I guess we writers just have to put up with it. I
enjoyed this. It was a fun read.

True, I have to get up in the middle of the night at times to jot something down before it escapes me! Thanks for the review Judy! Nancy

Cleverly conceived and well written, except for spelling errors shown below.

Poets work is never finished << Need apostrophe on "Poet's work"

'till the paper work is done. << Misspelled the first word here. Choose ONE of these instead (they are both correct):

'til
till

Boy did this touch a nerve; many nerves. What a great flowing easy to read, contiguous poem. A one reader. The stanza that really got me was
"I get some crazy subjects,
tales of things I never knew.
Words I never heads before
Will suddenly break through"

I thought I was the only lunatic that that happened to. I write down words then have to go look them up. But the worst is getting an inspiration while driving, and having to keep pulling over to write down the lines a they fill your head.

This was / is a great writ ,, so provocative and so true to the inspired writer. Thanks so much I really enjoyed this. (if you couldn't tell)
Thanks Again Jimmy

This is cool! I thought I was the only lunatic. Yes if I don't write it down another idea crowds it out. Not tonight. I think my Poets Society is mad at me for telling our secret. LOL I hope they haven't deserted me, we have written some good ones lately.
I enjoyed your review very much! I live to laugh and smile! Nancy

I always wonder too, why every time I sleep, I'll wake up with a new story in my head but one thing that I need to be sure is to write it all down even just a slight scribble. Because it will vanished when my mind starting to wake up. The reality story of my life is stronger than my dream story. Lol

But nice poem treasure you got there(envy me). Lmao

Love much,
Lynn:0)

Thank you. It is true, if we don't jot something down we lose it. I have got up at 2 or 3 in the morning to write down a verse that's in my head. They didn't visit me last night and I can't think of anything to write. LOL Guess I should have kept quiet about them! Thanks for the review Lynn. Nancy

Great piece and I know of those obscure words that pop into my head for absolutely no reason. Very original take on a well known title.

I just keep writing about things I know nothing about. I have never been to sea. Don't watch pirate movies. Where did The Ghost Ship come from and the widow's walk story? LOL I am sure you understand. Thanks for the review! Nancy

promps > prompts.

I liked your poem. It flowed down the page quite nicely! (To heck with meter and structure, per your author notes! That's boring, when we can write the way we want to! LOL)

I hope so, I get sited about it often. Syllables count. I may be off one syllable at times but I always strive to make it flow.
Linda, what do you do with contest entries. The Ghost Ship is entered and it will be June 30, before the end. Do I keep posting the poem or wait and post again before the contest. Do reviews count or just votes? They don't give any advice on this site so I don't have a clue. Nancy
reply by Linda England Bonam on 13-Jun-2012
I would post it a little bit before the contest ends, because reviews don't count, only votes. But you want to get it out there so it is fresh in people's mind, before they head to the voting booth. Hopefully this answers your question. Linda

This is just a really great write and read this afternoon. That was one of the only movies I ever appreciated Robin Williams in The Dead Poet's Society 1989.

Your picture choice and color choice are a perfect complement to your fine words - thank you - Dinah
