Good use of rhyme, including good proximate rhyme like flame/refrain
I love the pairing of paparazzi/glitterati - very clever :-)
I love the focus on needing a cup of tea - the repetition works well
Great humor - you made me laugh more than once :-)

Lady Ga Ga isn't exactly my cup of tea, but I got a kick out of her facebook posts of being irritated by the peacock. Despite the celebrity she wants and doesn't want to be, it is the simple pleasures that are a true joy. I only know her from the Oparah interview and got a kick that she said she really can't go out in public without being noticed, and appreciating the meat dress starting to rot and keeping the other celebrities away from her. I find it is poetry that keeps me paying attention to everything and more or less absorbing it like a sponge. When the need arises, I can recall and reference it.

Unfortunately, with today's modern news regarding juveniles, crime, self-defense and social BS. I seem at a focal point to not only point things out to the media, but alerting people how they attempt to engineer things for maximum emotional impact. In Florida how the not only tried to portray Zimmerman's race, but actually photoshoped his injuries away, so he appeared racist; the accusations of pointing out the severity of Baltimore crime problem and how ineffective the city is, was turned into accusations that racists were involved; then over the weekend in Baltimore County (where I reside, but this happened across town) how the failed to mention the race of the off duty officer who killed a kid involved with a group who threw rocks at this house. My guess is the officer is black, they also posted an innocent looking boy, but at least mentioned he was five-ten and a football player. The truth is the truth, and race doesn't matter but the attitude of the youth that they think they can attack and kill adults and no one is allowed to do anything about it. When I was that age, I was put down at the very look of confrontation and my own father warned me, I am the size and age that if I appear to be physically challenging an adult, most likely they will kill me. It came close a couple of times. I am having a, "Can't believe it moment," because between the juveniles during one period of time in my life, and the police reaction, I was not only terrified I felt lucky to walk out of it alive. What brought it under control was me drawing a line and issuing an ultimatum to the teens and luckily they understood I was serious and I didn't have to act which would have put me in jail. I consider it all part of, "The curse of Dad's death wish upon me."

I appreciate this review and really enjoyed it. I value it and thank you for the compliments. Mike

Hey Mike, what have you been up to (besides this of course)? Glad you let us know which peacock as I had already put several faces on her. But you may owe the birds an apology.

Just working and thinking, which explains why I am always tired. LOL on the comment as she is a bird. I don't really get to much into celebrities these days. I enjoyed the review and thank you for it! Mike

I know the Lady has triple bazillion fans, but she makes me absolutely crazy. If she would just sing, it would be okay, but her persona makes me want to scream and pull my hair out! LOL

Your poem, however is a fun read, Mike.

I only know her from that Oprah interview, and I liked the tennants behind her, "Born This Way," foundation, as she explained it to Oprah as a way for children to empower themsevles and fight bullying. She did use the inspiration of a teenage that was gay, and she recieved his last message as he killed himself.

I really wanted to sign on to the foundation as a full supporter, but when I liked the facebook page, it was about gay empowerment, and by the posts, it was obvious people like me weren't welcome. I still wanted to sign on provided the foundation was exactly as described to Oprah, so I contacted the foundation directly and asked for a clarification, but they never got back to me, so I dropped my thoughts of and support.

Being a single adult leader in scouts, I think a couple of scouts beated around the bush indicating there gay. I took the, "Don't worry about it, you don't know what you are," approach. When I was asked why I said that, I responded, "I've seen how you guys act around two insects!"

I actually feel there is way too much stress on adolescent sexuality and not enough in real perspective or practicality.

I have Lady Gaga's suicide story beat as a favor to the family, I cleaned the gun used by a former scout that committed suicide. While the assured me the police cleaned the gun, they never looked inside the barrell and in order to start, I had to winnow the last few pieces of Charlie and flush him down the toilet. As bad as that gun was, it was amazing a bullet ever came out.

The thing was, I saw him pick up that gun at the gunshop with his girlfriend and father (who was proud at his manly pursuit,) but knowing Charlie, I felt something was amiss, but couldn't put my finger on it. About two years before, he ran his car into a tree and I expressed my belief this was a suicide attempt, and got cussed out and yelled at, actually asked to leave the campfire for being a dick about things.

He had his problems and it was like he was second fiddle to his older brother. The kid had both uniqueness and heart, but frustrated me as he let everything get in his way, which was why I tried to get him to pick up on leadership. I put him in charge of the troop and these two new fathers bullied the hell out of him, and with the confrontation, Charlie stepped down against my advice as we backed him. Believe me, the senior staff really stuck it to those two adults and at the end we told them their sons are welcome in the troop, but not you assholes. They took their boys out of weblos as well. The adults of our troop must of not liked them either because we never even got a talking to. I will never forget these cats, when my assistant Senior Patrol Leader was in charge, the two adults made an effort to publically make a scene by pulling out a potato chip bag and saying, "F-you, we're doing what we want to, come here boys!" Instead my assistant walked up to them and popped their potato chip bag and popped it in a way the potato chips blew all over him.

He made a move towards my assistant and I said, "I want to make things easy on you, the last person who touched him that was your size got thrown fifteen feet and had their head pounded int he sand. Actually it was a kid about third his size, who tried to stab him, but he got thrown about thirty!

I only seen clips of her performances so I really can't judge her based on that. Most likely I wouldn't like her music, but then I had my hard rock and mom told me it was fine to listen to it with attitude, just don't act it out in real life.

I thank you so much for your compliments and this review. Mike

Hi Mike,

I'm thinking you wrote this excellent poem about Lady Gaga canceling her show. This is a fine free verse with descriptive words, an easy flow and creative theme. Your use of poetic devices, like enjambment and alliteration are great. Is there such a word....againget? Well done, chey

No, I wrote it because it all tickled my fancy, though I hate when you have to give in to thugs. I do think the confusion between the peacock and the teapot was sort of a divine way with amusement to cheer her up. The funny word was simply a matter of a slipped space and if fixed, thank you for pointing it out. Also the compliments and this review.

I irritated a few people on Facebook today, as I got a lot of cat loving friends. I do too, but I had to put up a video of a former cat that was not only taxidermied, but turned into a helicopter, and chasing cows.

I don't know why anyone would be irritated over that!?

They are super animal lovers, and deem anything like that as cruel. My way, many of them feel that farmers are horrible pet owners if they allow their dog to ride in the truck bed, on the tool box because they are carrying a horse trailer with a fifth wheel, I gave my honest opinion, that the farmer has a lot more experience with animals, loves his pets as well and keeps them much better trained then most people. I caught all kinds of hell and got a few personal comments my way.

I love my Beagle, but when he was young he was headstrong and very occasionally it took negative reenforcement to get him in check. In one case, I was walking my young dog and quite franly, he was being a punk, snaping at people, trying to go where I didn't want to go and I had to wrestle with him to get stuff out of his mouth. No training methon was working and with fair warning, I cracked his hind with the leash. He looked defiantly at me at tried to bite me, so I really cracked him. I had six cars hit their breaks, some on their cell phone saying they are calling the police and others hurling insults.

I yelled back at them, "Fine we'll do it your way and if he misbehaves I'll have him put down. It pissed me off because there are the same type of people that would speed up to get by a man beating a woman, I've seen that too.

In fact, after that day, my relationship with the beagle was vastly improved and rarely have to correct him in such a manner. In fact, judging from his behavior afterward, he was happy and actually sought that limit. Sometimes the walks drive me crazy because I encounter a woman with her dog that isn't trained (she is), doesn't understand the behavior of dogs interacting together and gets angry with me.

Chey, it was wonderful talking with you! Off to work... ---... LOL

I think dogs are like children and they need to where their boundries are. Without that they misbehave. I have seen that so many times and it makes me cringe. Some parents are never in control. Hope you have a good work evening...chey

She actually had the tea pot boiling away on the stove and forgot, and when it whistled, she dismissed it because she thought it was that bird. I thank you for your compliments and this review. Mike

In this well written poem you get the feeling of exhaustion and frustration. I like how the teapots whistle and the bird's song become one and the same. And how you make that bird almost a missed annoying friend at the end.

Keep writing

I love Wikipedia and do support it when I can with an odd contribution. The beauty is, with few exceptions the illustrations are considered public domain and can be used, even in a modified form, but under the license agreement, you have to disclose that fact. I just needed something fun to do, writing wise and Harold came along! I thank you very much for the compliments and this review. Mike

A Teapot and the Peacock.

In work calling for the necessity of serving tea,
the sound of a peacock is heard. There seems a rejuvenation once again as the fresh of memory comes into life.

The posts cracked me up because they want to agrivation, to surprise, and a bit of fun, as she photographed a, "note," that Harold left on the window. Ga Ga has this larger then life persona, yet in the Opra's interview a bit of hoity toitieness. I thank you for the compliments and this review. Mike

Perhaps Harold was meant as a gift to do just that as she was very upset to cancel her Indonesia concert. On Facebook, she just posted she was upset and disappointed, but I found a press release pertaining to threats. There was a flash mob of her fans there, and all was welll so at least the governement entertained some freedom. I enjoyed this review and feel you made a wonderful point. Thank you very much. Mike
