"Live each day like it's your last." We do always need to be ready for Christ's coming.
I enjoyed reading this. Both my grandpas were WWII veterens and a lot of other ancestors and family have served in various wars thoughout US history.

Know one knows the time, not even Jesus..the Bible does tell us we can know when the time is near by what is going on around us..for me, I'm living like the is the last day..if tomorrow shows up I'll do the same thing. Good piece. God bless.

Yes, I agree Janie. The times sure are looking like it's "any time". We'll have to "look" each other up once we all get there. I'd love to introduce you to my family and get to know yours. Hey, we'll have eternity... :o) Boy, that puts a big smile on my face this morning.

I hate being pulled for missing commas etc.

This is very well written reminding us of so many things to be grateful for and that we remember all the soldiers who lost their lives fighting battles,we here so many rumors that the world will end and different dates , we should be aware of the damage we are all causing well done on a thought provoking write regards Fuller Jill

And the people who head the religions with the doom and gloom predictions happily gather in the belongings of the faithful, then apologize and tell us the rapture is still with us when the predicted end doesn't arrive. I really get angry at some people, the leaders especially. Great poem that brings back a lot of memories. I was in and out just before things started to get serious in Nam. Excellent write. Ray.

Thank you Ray for reviewing my essay. My ex was a para-trooper in 1960's. I had many high school friends that did not come back. I still struggle with how our Nam vets were treated on returning home. However, someday I know it will end. That is what I'm looking for.

I'm glad you liked this piece. I've always liked this song, too. It was done in the 70's and what is so plain to see is that it still applies to today. It does not look like we have come very far...
