I like that when you have nothing to do, you write and post on FanStory. Having just recovered from an episode of congestive heart failure, I know how you feel or felt and you expressed it beautifully in your poem. Thank you for writing and sharing.

This is the most fun poem I've read in a while. I don't really like poetry, but I still make myself read it now and again. Your honesty in it is what strikes me the most. I love it.

I completely understand your predicament, and think that if my three year old special needs daughter could talk, this is what she would say exactly about all the medicine and tv she has to endure.

Nice Job!!!

I'm fifty something and I still play too, so I can't fault you for that. And I watch Harry Potter, so what's wrong with some people. Hope you get better soon. Writing and watching tv, what a life, although being sick isn't any fun. Great job.

I'm so sorry you are (were?) sick and not able to do much. That feeling of "ug, I don't like this" came through very well. I was not at all confused by the wanting to play and having a daughter-in-law. Made sense to me. However, you do pose two questions that don't have question marks. And I'm really curious about the phrasing on "my daughter-in-law she.." (Why not drop the "she"?) Other than that, it was a good sad/sweet poem. Hope you are as good as new by now!

Interesting author notes, I could see clearly the marvelous message of this stifling afternoon of boredom and loneliness. There is nothing worse than being sick and confined and then pouring your heart out in verse only to have it also twisted and contorted! Hope you feel better soon and can be back out there and play.

Till the last amen

Yes, the first stanza confused a little, but it is soon cleared up, so no problem there. Great sympathies for you during this down time - hope the nasty ol' bronchitis has started to clear now.
Your poem shares the frustration and boredom of enforced idleness.

This was a good way to get over the blues on a sick boaring day. Nothing like voicing a poem to make one feel better! Glad you had the strength to make it through! Well done.

Lora, I am 63 and never understood why people feel at a certain age for them, that the word "play" must go away. Play has gotten me through some real tough times and continues.

I really enjoyed reading and reviewing this poem. With every verse, I could feel your wanton need to get out and play.

Exceptional piece of writing,,,,,,Jim

I.raven,

Your thoughts are well described. Perfectly arranged & formatted. Good flowing. Understandable. The flow was smooth.
Very well reflected thoughts and opinions, expressiveness is working well.

There was no SPAG.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal
