Two plus bloody two is four, for crying out loud. Sheesh.

G'day, mate. I like your poetry about your people and lands because I can always feel the heartbeat in it. What I'm stoked about these days is that Aboriginals in the arts are getting more of the respect and recognition they deserve. And what art (in dance especially). Lotta talent everywhere. Pretty damn good yourself, eh? This is tops and loved the imagery thru word choices. Nope; sorry don't cut it but recognition does, eh? How's your new leg, Kace - comfy? :) Good onya. Cheers, mate. Alyx.

P.S. Enjoyed 'Log' as well - loved the turtle tie-in with being human. Lots of big offers tucked into a little space with that one. Another goodie.

In our land, the white man took over the lands of the Native Americans - drove them to the same misery. Sad the stories of many beleagered peoples the world over. The winds of change were never as violent as the wars of change. Men conguering other men. And now we often hear of parents killing their children, children, their parents. The other day I stopped an eleven-year old boy who was holding a large beetle under the water at a drinking fountain while others laughed as they looked on. Boy did they ever get a lecture. I hope they went home and told their parents. I believe in respect for all life. Saving a beetle from water torture isn't exactly heroic but I felt better and hope I instilled some regret into the minds of the boys. Very good poem. I was away from the site for a month and wonder if messages were erased after a certain amount of time. I will check to see if i missed other work.
By the way Joe snapped a picture and I added it to my profile such as it is - LOL not very good. I like your poetry - Elly

This piece was very painful to read just knowing as humans we could treat others woith such disreguard and cruelty. We need to be kept aware of these horrid things we do,

I looked up Uluru and it did not mention the goddess, only the rock formation. Is this what they refer to as "table rock?" It is sacred to the original tribes is what I read and the home of exotic species and flora. I can remember in a move, maybe Apollo III in which a native was in the bush tending a fire and watching the sky chanting as the craft orbited overhead. It was an extremely compelling scene to have the ancient ways reflecting upon the new world and still staying the same.

Good morning, Uluru is our mother in the Dreamtime (look up Aboriginal Dreaming) it is legend. In the beginning the ancestors came to earth and the Rainbow serpent formed the face of the earth, when the spirits had finished they went to live in the trees. There is much history about Aboriginal beliefs. We are bound to nature and all nature is worshipped by us. Thank you my friend. Blessings, Kace.

You poem "Thanks for Giving" Has a very sensitive topic and I can see what happened to the Aboriginal people. It was very unjust and cruel. Well done K!

Chris, Thanks for reading, one of the reasons we don't celebrate Australia Day and much the same in America - you celebrate Thanksgiving, what about the American Indians? Blessings, K.

Well said bravo! 200 years and counting, will it ever right itself? I really see your message being sent out into the World Kace, and more power to you for having a go.
Most people only care for self these days. If only we could all live as one, I hope, but perhaps not in my lifetime.
Sorry is only a word, we owe them so much more. Well written
mate.

Dinah, Thanks for reading my friend; this is why I am drawn to your writing about American Indians, we are the first Australians and saying 'sorry' doesn't cut it for me. I am against Thanksgiving too. Bless you, Kace.

Hi Kace,

Of course I didn't know about National Sorry Day but you have explained it well. What a tragedy for the first Australian families. I can't even begin to imagine how horrible that was for them. Your descriptions and rhyme keeps the lines flowing down the page easily. You have chosen words that are full of emotion and angst. The site won't let me give you a six (ugh) Blessings, chey

This poem is very heavy in content. It is well done. I like the use of rhyme.

The entire poem is sarcastic which gives it an angry vibe. I feel this is appropriate considering the content. It is aggressive in nature & leads me to thinkthis would be a good addition to a collection of poetry dedicated to protest. I believe I have seen protest anthologies before...

I have never been to Australia & don't know a great deal about the history there....I'm glad to know there is now a National Sorry Day. I will think of it now come May 26th.

Thank you.

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Wendy, yes, angry is a word for the poem. My people are the first Australians (much like the American Indians)after 200 years to say 'sorry' doesn't cut it for me. Thanks for thinking of us. Blessings, K.
