Still more funny people pictures. I love them.
Your 5-7-5 was a good commentary on a lot of
what goes on at this site. A good write.

Thanks, just. I had over18 reviews and one sixer and it never made the HOME page. Go figure.

What's interesting, Scarlet, I've had over 17 reviews and one sixer, but nowhere do they put my poem on the home page. Censorship? I'm willing to bet that those who diss the site never win a free contest. What think you?

I ALWAYS give at least 'five', Shari, not out of fear of responses, but cos I think the recipient is far more likely to take on board any humble advice I have to offer, rather than get their backs up to start with.

Mind you, many don't of course, and my latest short story I think received 3x3s and 3x4s. Guess what - it shared 1st prize, so I thought 'up yours!' LOL.
Anyway, I digress. Another funny poic - I guess from the same source as your last post, and some interesting and original words on this theme.

Best wishes, earl

Congrats on the win. I missed that one. Entries don't go to fans .
I give advice with fours and promise to update if they iron out a few problems. But even this gets hackles up. So not worth it.
Will only review now the prose and poetry I really like.

Lmao..girlie your such a trip and love that your a open mind speaker, how true your words are indeed and its sad when I think about it..rank on this site really means nothing at all, I care not anymore about it and feel better about not caring.

Makes me a bit sick how this system works, I've learned to just pass up the writings that are horrible, so many people only want the stars they could care less about the review even if it is generic and smells like copy and paste.

Its pretty damn sad I always love advice or pointing out flaws as its easier for another set of eyes to find the mistakes sometimes than the writer..great read Spitfire I love that you always just put it out there and tell it like it is in such a creative and classy way...thanks for the read

Thanks, Tammy. I can't believe that some of the top poets give 5 stars to crap while citing the problems!! I pass by horrible writes too, especially in the romance category. After awhile every thing sounds the same. I bet Tom laughs at our silliness all the way to the bank.

Ha ha! You certainly said it. I've been generally skipping the stories I think I'll give less than five to. I feel like most folks just want a feel-good self validation, rather than an honest critique. It's really kind of sad because it ends up making this process irrelevant. Love the Chicken soup analogy for the feel good fluff that reviewing has become.

Wouldn't it be great if we were limited to thirty fivers a week. That would sort the wheat from the chaff. I'm skipping some too, but need money to post. It's a catch-22.

I hear ya! It's the fine line between integrity and the bottom line...Hope you never feel you need to hold back with my writing:)

Hi Shari
You need to mention the reviewers who quite happily give you a four star rating - but if you give them one back they go bananas!
You found a great illustration once again.

In this case, I targeted a couple writers that I gave four stars. Man, the claws were out. Think more honesty would make five stars more valuable. Have the same rankings for a week- Can't go any higher unless blessed with sixers.

How true, how true! (Not that I thought it wasn't worth it!) Great use of allusion to make a point here. The picture is an excellent reflection of the mood of the speaker in the poem.

I was in a bad mood when I picked it out. That's why the attack and the picture. Thanks, my friend, for stopping by and rating.

I think Tom's Chicken Soup Site is 99% better than all the begging sites elsewhere. I hate being begged to read someone else's work. lol. A five does not cost the reviewer anything even if they do give a page of constructive feedback. It builds good solid relationships. I liked your 5-7-5. It had a nice tinge of humour. Well penned. The artwork looks petrified. lol. luv jada

I love your positive POV. Haven't tried other sites. They're worse? You're right about building relationships too. Most readers want a kiss on the mouth, not a kiss on the cheek-- at least the guys do if the poet's a female.LOL

I go into shock when I see a four. Someone's breaking the rules! But if reason is valid and I learn how to improve my craft, trust me, I'll take the four and a chance to write better.

Oh no, this is great! We do tend to be too lenient and guilty as charged...this is honest and a fun poem too. Great work Shari. I love your forthright attitude. We all need, me especially, to not be so thin skinned when it comes to fours or lower...unless it's just a thing to lower someone's rank. hugs my friend..Susan

WOW! I finally got the all-powerful sixer. Thank you forever. I was in a bad mood yesterday and gave two fours and cited reason. Lord, you would have thought I had ruined chances for a Pulitzer Prize. It's best to stay away from poems that in my opinion are average. Problem is I'd never get any points that way. LOL. It's easier to rate prose as most posts are at least good and can kicked up with with a few changes. I'm always willing to upgrade.
Hugs to you too. How is your health these days?
