You must have seen lot and known a lot to draw this devastating picture. We do reap what we sow. Certainly Leigh did. Pieces like this help to open eyes.

You are bringing the attention to a very important issue in this well written story. So many people die on the streets without anyone caring. I enjoyed reading your story, good job.

this is very well written, livelylinda, you did a great job writing this story about the woman who lost everything and learned the life she grew up with wasn't as bad as she thought. and nobody mourned the life on a homeless woman on the streets.

To the author of Alleys, This is an excellent story giving my heart a tug. It's so true of the way the homeless people have to live. I never can figure out why people don't seek help before they actually spend 20 years in the Alley. (I always thought if I was homeless, I'd live on the beach in Hawaii.) Ha. Carole

Everyone has their own story of why they are on the street; we must not forget that. Thanks for reading. livelylinda

What a sad story, livelylinda, and surely one that many homeless persons experience. You really make this woman come to life with the description you give and your revealing details about her past life and how she wound up homeless. The information you give about the way she lives seems very believable, and the reader cares for her and what happens to her. I imagine her death was like that of so many other homeless people. I hope some get help and are able to rise above their homeless life. judi

A chilling well-crafted story. This woman is only a small example of how the citizens of this country find themselves in the streets, faceless and anonymous. A fear a lot of people throughout the world hide in the back of their minds in this shaky economy. Well done.

Excellent! You presented her as a person, despite her current situation, decisions she made in the past that were not constructive. A very sad story, the things we do to ourselves and those we should care for. Thank you for sharing, we have all seen people like this, I often wonder how did they arrive at such a place. Did they have dreams of something better, what were their parents hope for them. Very interesting story.

What a sad story of Leigh and how she lived life. I think society, government agencies and health agencies need to address the issue of homeless people with mental health issues. Thanks for sharing. PP
