I would chuckle and say this was humerus if I were young, but since I will be 90 next year, I think I will pass - it is too close to how my husband looks for my purse each time we go out!

HI Permilia! I'm 58...and do this all the time. It's so tiring. I walk, and walk, and look, and search. I have lost keys so many times. I have kept lock smiths in business. AND washed more than a few cell phones, forgetting they were in a pocket. We are not alone either! At least...I will say, I do hope you have good luck in not forgetting where things are--and also, a heartfelt thank you for a great review! Tell your hubby my son does this for me almost every time we have to go to the store! I know, we should put bright colored ribbons on keys! ?? And cell phones. ?? Thank you so much...just a delight to have you enjoy this... Susan

Oh I wish I were 46 again!! Tho, at that age I thought I was old too. I told one lady who read this we should put brightly colored ribbons on our keys and cell phones...I lose both all the time! I have washed two cell phones!!! The water proof ones are over 500.oo, so, no way. Hang in there!! hug! Susan

very nicely written and I could see it happening just that way. Life as you get older is not easy and you have reminded me of this. thanks for sharing.

How typical. You've made your two main characters very realistic and very adorable at the same time. We all know people like this - and some of them are us. Thanks for a cute one.

An excellent dialogue focused story that contrasts these women so well by conveying their thoughts and opinions
The sisters tread through the neat home they shared - should be share, for tense consistency
Imogene was the taller - you've shifted into past tense - if you want the whole thing to be past, then you have to change "tread"
I am laughing my head off as the glasses are found and now the keys are missing LOL Brooke

What a lovely short story. I can identify with both of the ladies. Where I live there are many older people who have never married and depend totally on each other.
I agree that the situation is not funny, but it is great when these folk find it within themselves to look back at mishaps with a degree of humour
hugs

I see it now, and that's serious.
Susan,
This is an excellent slice-of-life for two dingy old ladies. Actually, misplacing things is not a sign of senility. Forgetting what car keys do would be a sure sign.
I enjoyed this short story and have one suggestion:
"each engrossed in their [her] own thoughts," They're both women, so you don't need the gender-neutral "their." I use "their" all the time to avoid the wretched "his/her."

Hi Susan:)
I've looked for my glasses all day. I looked in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom Finally I remembered that I went to sleep reading. Sure enough, I found them in the bottom of my easy chair,
Marilyn always helps my searches with her favorite question, "Where did you leave them?" Now why didn't I think of that?
Now I need to go to FanStory to review ao I take my glasses off because they are too strong to use with the computer and what do I see? You know; 'Church Ladies,' and I have to relive my whole morning. As Yogi Berra once said, "It's d©j vu all over again".
You certainly got your slice of life story right, complete with wonderful realistic dialog. Yogi Berra explained that this quote originated when he witnessed Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris repeatedly hit back-to-back home runs. I thought of this as a simile to all the back to back great stories you post on FanStory.
Love and Irish Hugs,
Roger

Hi Roger! HA! I have done this a dozen times just since writing this story! i do hope you have not! Lol! If so , remember you're not alone. I get so tired....I just love the comparison of my work to the baseball greats. Did you read the story 'Hardball?' If not, it's okay. I can't remember. You are the best fan. xoxo!! Susan
