Very great adaptation, man. E.E. Cummings was a genius and I'm glad I have stumbled upon another one of his fans on here. You are truly a great writer.

Thanks so much. He was one of the poets featured in the Baltimore Poetry Discussion Group and I really liked that poem. Mike

I needed the stillness of this poem tonight. As much as I love poetry it can do strange things to the mind and I have been wrestling with a couple of words tonight. Your writing soothed me as I could just imagine sitting and watching a lone leaf leaving the branch and drifting away to who knows where or what.

Well, ironically I did too, so I thank you for sending me back to this poem, and you're hint had it soothe me as well.

Because of the way I stood for both the Florida shooting and the Baltimore beating, I found myself labeled a racist. But that doesn't bother me because I can challenge that perception in a straight forward manor. What people's problem is, is seeing the truth for what it is, only then can their be a more just societal perspective. Everyone knows about the Florida shooting, but I couldn't get the media to give Baltimore's beating national attention, cept for the fact it went viral. I view myself as a little guy with a lot of guts, and I am trying to get people to work against what they are told to believe, and sort of instill a trust in yourself situation. I enjoy messing around like that.

In the end, I like being that lone leaf, and they always seem guided by a divine wind that keeps people from trying to trample it to nothing. Yet when the leaf settles for that rest, he is joined by millions of lone leaves.

I love this review and thank you for it very much. It is an inspiration for me. Mike

I liked this big time, Mike ... the words, the message, the picture, font size and color choices ... you really created a perfect package with a punch. Lea

God, I missed you so much here, but you always show up to greet the profound. Long overdue hugs!

When I started writing poetry online, I figured I will now study the greats, but writing poetry is so much work, I just don't have the time or money for formal study. I feel in love with Baltimore's Poetry Discussion Group, which meets once a month. And though I about fall asleep at the gatherings, there is always something that I find interesting. My problem is, something about the poet inspires me and I am discovered, busily writing down ideas for my own poetry. I think with the group, and how they feel about proper poetry; I am that snake in the bag they tell kids to stop playing with, but yet they insist.

As much as I am captivated with you, Mila is my favorite poet as with her writings, she got my poetic cherry. I see E.E. Cummings doing the same with punctuation and grammar as Mile, did with her entendre'.

Poet isn't a profession, but the most incredible lifestyle. It has been providing me with what only money is purported to supply. Loved this review and you are much to flattering for me! Mike

I love ee cummings
This is an interesting take on his poem and style
good use of repetition and of changing a phrase around in different ways to emphasize your message Brooke

Hi Mike. Here I am. This is very nice. You created a great mood within this piece and did a good job with ee
in mind. The one crit. I have, is ee never used capital letters, so I would get rid of all the upper case. Otherwise, excellent

Believe it or not, I went back and looked at the poem and actually added another capital letter. "A" My considerations on what to capitalize took more time and effort as writing the poem and determining it's layout. My intention wasn't to mimic E.E. or his style, but to emphasize what I got out of it, which is also why i (sorry) included the original poem in my notes. I thank you so very much for the compliments and this review. Missed them too. Mike

This is a very good play on words here. Also it gives me an idea for writing more such poems like this. This was an excellent piece of poetic art to have created... John

Hi Mike,

I think Cummings would be proud of you and the way you wrote this poem. It certainly is different and I applaud that. You actually made me feel sorry for that lonely leaf. It must have been the last to let go of the branch and the others were already raked up. Well done....chey

I don't what E.E. Cummings would have done with your poem, I mean how much meaning can you wring out it but I love trees and have never found one to shed one lone leaf. I haven't the imagination to equate loneliness with a leaf. The bare, supplicating branches shorn of their foliage for the winter might speak reams and whatever became of that russet leaf. If it were a cone or an acorn it would fall into the ground and die, thereby germinating and bringing forth much fruit. Even Cummings had his limitations. - Ekim

Seeds never fall to the ground and die, in fact drupes and pine nuts are the delight of birds, so you could say spring back into life after their crappy existence. In fact a leaf does appear to die, but only changes from as what is left behind allows other life to take hold.

I enjoyed this review and thank you for it. I have been both poetically scourged and attributed in the past. We would probably continue to mess with each other. Mike

I was quoting from the scriptures.
"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Lest an ear of corn fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone. But if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit."

You did e.e. proud. He totally put out the concept of poetry
as concept rather than form. You can write about anything...sometimes I love a poem that I cannot fathom...it stays in the mind and leads me down mental avenues to expand my mind. Wonderful work!!

This is a clever use of very few words and tells a story too.
I love the artwork too.
This poem is good but I feel sorry for the leaf!
