Aussie, now I must think twice about entering my story in a poem. Once again, your use of words to paint history is astounding. Who would not want to come to Australia with a tourist marketer as you are. Wonderful work again my friend... jimi

Your poem brings back wonderful memories of my visit to Australia. Three weeks of heaven. By the way, I was a great fan of Steve Irwin and actually miss him! Your vibrantly descriptive poem was a joy to read. I long to return and will someday. I didn't know about the Min-Min lights. I learn something everytime I read one of your poems. Very well executed work in every poetic way.

Elly, Thank you so much for your kind review; glad you enjoyed the poem. We have many legends, our Aboriginal people had no written language, therefore all was passed down by word of mouth. My grandmother was Aboriginal. Cheers friend, Kace.

Sixes you deserve. ;)

Rainforest delights, colored birds, angel flights Lifesavers patrol beaches; bikini clad sights <<< There is no enter/return/line-space between these... it shows up as one long line. You will want to fix that!
This is a magnificent poem about your amazing country! You should be very proud of this one! :)

Australia seems to encompass everything fine within the shores of the whole good earth. It is indeed the lucky country, even more a blessed country as your poem amply demonstrated. I like Queensland bed I wrote a romantic story called a Place Called Koolangatta, to be found in my portfolio. Ekim777 (Page 2 or 3.) Best wishes.

Yep, G'day to all. I'll give that a six, you sum up what Aussies truly think of the their Country. The land that has it all. How true a real invitation for others to come and visit. I would say Australian people are happy people for they are living in the land of milk and honey, the land of plenty. Well said

I enjoyed this poem. It showed a love of a land, of a place. I am mystified why an Australian common wealth citizen would spell colour as color, but, then, stranger things have happened. The second last stanza took the reader away from the "spiritual", and ancient mystery of the poem, and could maybe have been part of a more "modern" poem, or at least part of a Aussie tourist campaign! It is your poem, but I would try to get it back to that spiritual "feel",emphasising the mystery of an ancient culture, and an ancient island the size of a continent.

Thanks for reading. Color is more acceptable for Americans. The story is progressive - from ancient to present day. Cheers, K.

Hi Kace,
You have penned a great poem for the contest. I will always be glad that I visited your country. It is beautiful and with so many sights to see. Your rhyme scheme is strong, good alliteration, eloquent words and a smooth flow. Sorry I don't have a six for you. Well done and good luck in the contest....blessings, chey

Oh, my, you've made Australia sound beautiful, mystifying and unique; like there is no other place on the world like it. I'm going to coax Gordon to visit; every three months he gets an urge to wander; I pray it will be your way. C
