A beautifully written Cinquain for Good Friday, Brooke. I loved your use of "new breath" and the meaning it has for all of us. Happy Easter!

I feel like a sycophant in my praise for your work, Brooke. I just can't say enough how the simplicity and eloquence touches me, while you challenge your intellect to express in a specific style. It astounds me, but more importantly, move me. Happy Easter, and renewal to you. Larry

Brooke, looks like you followed the Cinquain perfectly. I never knew there were so many different kinds of poems.
Very appropriate for this Easter Season. I am so glad that Christ's death wasn't the end of the story!

Thank you for this lovely and meaningful Cinquain. This message for Good Friday is well stated and so true. I really like how lines 3 and 5 rhyme giving it a nice flow. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Pearly One,
A blessed day to you. Thanks for sharing your thoughtful poem which is so appropriate as we remember the death and resurrection of the Christ. I felt "breath" was the perfect way to describe this event. My thoughts have been much on breath lately too.

I liked your poem and think you did a great job with it. I wouldn't change a thing. The colors, the flow of your poem, it's just perfect.

Brooke, this is a stunning and powerful witness of faith in Christ's work through His earthly life, His willing sacrifice, the "breath" of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and those in the Upper room, and the glorious resurrection of our savior. As you say in your closing lines, the death of Christ for sinners/believers is the heart of the gospel. Thank you for "bearing witness." Blessings, Hector

Hi, Brooke, not being able to write them myself, I've been waiting for poems on Lent, Good Friday and Easter. So glad to finally find this cinquain. A few words that say a lot. I ponder on the last two lines quite long ...:) Great Job.

Brooke,

This is an excellent poem in honor of Good Friday. I appreciated this post and found nothing to criticize. I've heard that Roman Catholics are focused on the Sacrifice, Protestants on the Resurrection.

Dave, I had not heard that - I am Presbyterian/Protestant, and I think we honor a good balance of sacrifice and resurrection Thanks so much for your review :-) Brooke
