Before
resurrection --
hope revived by new breath --
we're called to bear witness that first
came death.
Your words to this Cinquain are so
appropriate this Eastertime, reminding
us of the true meaning of this special
time.

Thank you for writing your wonderful poem that reminds Christians the importance of Easter. I think many take it for granited. Jesus went through much pain for our salvation.

So true the story goes in this particular piece. A neat and precise form, the cinquain, you have chosen to bear the resurrection of Christ. I enjoyed its depth, Brooke

Excellent, short and to the point. Excellent use of language, excellent message though a little lost on an unbeliever. Very strong ending and the poem paints a clear image in our mind. This is great work.

In just a few words , the thought conveyed by the poetry is huge. The whole composition appears very coherent. A very simple and pure artwork complement the lines.

Brooke, I suppose there is a good reason for calling this Good Friday, but it never made much sense to me. I like your message---we can not rejoice in the resurrection without reliving the death. We cannot whitewash this part of the truth.
I look forward to what you will offer tomorrow, and Sunday.
Peace, Lee

Lee, thank you so much for your insightful reading of the message of this poem. We live in a society that wants happy religion, easy answers, triumph over nothing, just triumph! LOL And outside of religion it is the same thing - people used to dream of getting rich through hard work or through dreaming up some great invention or building a business, and now they dream of winning the lottery - instant success/no work. There is NO Easter without Good Friday. Brooke :-)

This is a very powerful image portrayed by your quatrain, and the dark artwork adds even more power to your words. Well done :) Tina

Hi Brooke! How appropriate for Good Friday! I can definitely see the downturn in mood with this cinquain. You have set the mood for today. My hubby says the weather always responds to Good Friday. He predicts we will have clouds around noon.
