A good message on this day, Brooke. Your words made me stop and imagine all the pain and suffering Jesus endured on this day so many years ago. I can envisage the savage crowd and then those who watch from the outskirts as their Lord was crucified. It must have been a terrible day.
Well penned. luv jada

Hi Brooke,
In first Adam we all die, in the second, Jesus, we all have life, your Cinquain sums it up very well.
Do you know the old English carol? Adam lay y'bounden? It mmore or less suggests that without Adam's disobedience, Jesus would not have come ... As the carol has it, "Ne' had the apple taken been, ne'er our Lady a' bin heavenly Queen ..."
Happy Easter.

Should be able to find it on YouTube, it's quite popular in the UK and even the folk/pop groupMedieval Baebes have sung it. It's good fun, but very medieval theologically!

Your poem evoked a strange thought in me; that death in some way is as much a gift as life. When our physical bodies are broken there is release. This poem though short, had incredible depth. Wonderful write--Ted

So simple, yet so powerful. Maybe because I see the cycle of life in so few words. Like the way its centered. Shows that the resurrection and Christ is the true center. Very timely writing. Les

Well this has powerful meaning.
I especially thought your last two lines packed a deeper meaning for Easter.
Well penned, and guess what I actually understood your author notes, maybe there is hope for me yet in structured poetry:)
Thanks for sharing, and I hope you and your family have a very Happy Easter.

Hi, Brooke.
I reckon this is the best 'Crapsey' you've posted. The lines, apart from being apt for today, all stand alone and flow together to make a story.
Best wishes, earl

Hey brooke,
I think your poem perfectly describes Good Friday. Love the rhyme you were able to get in without it sounding at all forced. Simply perfect!
Thanks for sharing it with us.

An excellent example of this form especially for Good Friday to depict a stark reality of the passion. A clever message that bears the hallmark of your style. Indeed, death had to come first. Great work!
