A very interesting commentary about the sunset. I like the way you personify the day and sun as she and he.
I think the sunset is like a parable about life. No matter how much death is all around us, life always goes on.

Yes! For certain sure Rags Auggie's sunset photo is glorious and it is well suited to your glorious sunset thoughts. I love how you personified sunset and gave it a special character... The sun does seem to settle on the horizon/shelf for a bit before he slithers off.. When I was small I used enjoy making my very own crimson ink from berries:
'He signs his name in crimson ink
Distilled from crimson berry
A proclamation to us all
He'll be rising bright and merry'
HA! HA!
when I was small i too used like signing my name in crimson ink
