Wow. Feel like I'm watching a CSI scene or something like that. You really describe the scenes so vividly, Barbara. I guess I have to take Paul's advice and wait for your next post...:)

This doesn't look good. Police don't usually put up yellow tape unless something serious has happened. I would say what happened in this chapter was more than harassment. These people behave more like gangsters. She sure has married into a real nasty family. Well written, Barbara.

I had peeked at this earlier, but now that I see six stars, think I'll follow it more. You really write well, keeping the action moving along. Maybe it was a bit TOO easy having the cops show up just then, but I don't like villains, so I am glad! Now, let's go save Anna.

Everett used to be a cop and has many friends on the force. This was established earlier and he got them there to help Troy. Thank you for the kind review.

this is very well written, barbara, you did a great job writing this chapter where things come down to a boiling point and troy is finally able to make it to anna's house after being sidetracked by ted edwards.

Good second part of Chapter 18, Barbara.

The shorter officer watched his partner put the suspect in the backseat (back seat) of the cruiser

He (The) taller officer stood beside the cruiser's driver's door.

"I'm getting (I'll get?) closer and see if I can find out anything."

My spell check said backseat was correct. I just checked my dictionary and you are correct. I will make those corrections. Thank you once again for your eagle eye.

Hi Barbara,

This is an exciting chapter and I hope Anna is okay. Thank heavens Everett sent the police to help Troy or I think he would be dead by now.Your description of each scene is outstanding and painted a clear mind picture for me. I think the police have enough on Ted to put him in prison. Finally I can give you a six! Well done....blessings, chey

Hi Barbara:)
You just weren't content with your last cliffhanger, were you? I hope you post the next part soon, so I can get some sleep.

At least Ted Edwards is no longer a threat. He will surely be on ice for a long time. I hope Bobby and his other scumbag friends will soon be with him in jail.

I hope the prayers for Anna are strong.

As usual, I have some specific comments:

1. The shorter officer watched his partner put the suspect in [the] backseat of the cruiser as he read him his rights, before he walked over to the passenger window of the truck. {I think you need the article 'the.'}

2. While he waited, Troy gave the officer his statement, then mounted his bike.
Now, maybe I can help Anna. Troy headed toward her apartment, ignoring the previous suggestion.I doubt that the whole police force could have convinced Troy to "...stay away from the hostage situation.

Once more FanStory has limited me to five stars, so you'll just have to settle for some virtual Irish Hugs.

Roger

This is definitely a well written and exciting chapter. And needless to say, it leaves the reader left in the air, eagerly awaiting to see what as happened to Anna.

One also wonders how people can be so careless, as obviously Ted was.

Good job.

Thanks for sharing this. JW
