Wow, this is really deep. I came in at the next chapter. It was so engrossing I just had to start at the beginning and work my way back. Thanks for filling in the gaps and allowing me to truly appreciate your characters. I can't help this feeling in the pit of my stomach that something tragic is about to go down.

This is the first section I went through.I was immediately able to drawn in to the characters as if I had been reading it for long.The dialogue portion is very good , the tense debate between Ted & Terry makes it more interesting.( The abused vs abuser points of view are also well expressed.

Anna's husband's determination to do harm to his wife
reminds me of a dog with a bone he doesn't want right
now but will fight to the death to keep another dog
from even sniffing it, much less eating it. Poor Anna
must be wondering if all this will ever end.

This is the first section I read of your book, but wow, I can tell you have done a wonderful job. I was drawn in immediately with the characters and the conflict.
There was a nice balance between dialogue, thought, and narration.

You've kept it flowing pretty good. The dialouge between the characters is good in the situations you've put them in. Your sentence and paragraph structure is fine too. Though this is a fiction story, those who are abused in real life are sad cases in-deed. Abusers as are the abused both have an aura about them which attracts the same type people that they wish to stay away from. I remember years ago, while I was separated from my first wife, I heard a statistic over the radio which said that over 50% of those divorced end up married to the same type personality in their next mate. I guess this goes also for those who are abused, they make the same mistake over and over. After hearing that I found a woman completely different and have been happily married for over 35 years. God bless and keep writing.

Barbara, thank goodness the police turned up when they did. I'm not sure who is the most stubborn out of Ted and Troy and who would have finally given in. Now, on to the next to see how Anna is doing inside the apartment.
