"Is that all," (was this a question?)
I really enjoyed your story, this is my next move for spring. My closets are screaming for mercy. Thanks.

Thanks for the read.

Great job, as usual. I love the way you've woven in your life experiences with the great closet dilemma we all live with. Your choice of words is always fun 'lack of laundering skills' ha. I think maybe you used the wrong word when you understated your size. Maybe overstated?

No, actually I couldn't relate to my diminished size and chose a suit far too large for me. the clerk brought me back a 12 and I thought she'd return with an 18....those days ae in the past tho...
-
I'm still confused. A size too large would be overstating, no?
-
I was holding a 16, thought I understated my size, expecting a bigger one, so I felt apologetic by understating my girth, maybe even embarrassed to think I could fit into a 16...so I understated by my expectations that she would bring me a bigger size, but if I confused you, then I need to choose better words. Thanks for telling me that.

A delightful read and one I'm sure all women can connect with. Love your wry humor: the practiced eye of an optometrist, color blindness, lack of laundering skills. Know the temptation of those two for one sales. Easy to see why you're in the top ten. Wish I had a six left.

Hello again, two for my trouble today. ;)
I bought a pair of jeans back in '99 that cost me $70.00. I had never paid that much for a pair of jeans and haven't since, but they are still folded neatly in my closet, practically brand new. The waistband shrunk considerably years ago and I keep thinking that with sit-ups I might get down to a 30 inch waist again but until then I keep thinking ...
It's funny, I wear t-shirts all most all the time but there are some I wear to work, a few that are casual and a couple I wear to 'dress up'.
Do you think I am vain? ;) Chrisfiore

I bought my 6 year old grandson a 32" belt at Danier last week. Send the jeans south, they'll get a decent foster home!

hahaha. How familiar all of this is. My wife is exactly like that...and, I have to admit, I'm pretty much the same way. Loved the story. :)

Another fine write my friend. first: you need a space inbetween "was" and "going" in "Iwas going to fork over" Yeah...Years ago when married for about two years my wife and I seperated...I came home from work and she was gone(LOL) anyhow, I was so furious that SHE left me. after a week my foster mother came by to get rid of allllll the clothing she left behind...she was going to let her grand daughters go through them. As I watched her pack my wifes things...I changed my mind and said no...I could still smell her in the clothing.(LOL) whatever. Great read...Michael

I still have a sweater my husband wore, gone a long, long time, but remember the scent that stayed in the wool comforted me after his death. Change of pace, was sadly not on preview before I released it. couldn't believe the spag! hope I got it all.
-
I didn't see anymore...but I don't catch spaggs...I create them (LOL)
-
Similar to a familiar motto in my life...I don't get headaches, I give them...
-
(LOL)....me too-

Ha! I'm glad I'm not the only one who decides to get rid of the unused things in my closet and then has second thoughts! I loved reading this, maybe because I can relate to it so easily. It is well written and humorous.
I knew I was(space)going to fork over the cash for that feeling of being beautiful.
As I gazed at the rainbow, weigh (weighed?) the closet place for these wisps of satin and silk,
No damn wonder I only needed to laundry (launder?) once a month.

Your story appears just in time for Spring Cleaning in my house! March 20 officially marks the first day of Spring. I don't have any energy for getting out for walks just yet so will likely tackle the spring cleaning first. I feel like you peeked into my life and my closet for your story. That is so funny how we can be so alike yet never met! I guess that's one of the things I try to find in reading a good book, connections. Thanks for the great story.
