First off let me state I am not good with punctuation and grammar so I certainly do not critique. I could be considered a bad reviewer because if I can't give a 4 or a 5 I normally skip. What I can do is say if I like it...and no I don't, I absolutely love it.

What a wonderful tale you have woven here, just brought a couple of tears here. Every child who is adopted into a loving family yet still feels different should have a copy of this, to read, to understand, to appreciate.

The storyteller has spun a story of great worth.

Thank you
Dinah

Awwwwe, what a good story, with tears and laughter and best of all a happy ending... loved the part where Papa Racoon said the coyote was sly as a fox...that was funny. Looks like a perfect picture for a perfect story. Good luck.

I enjoyed the story very much. It has a strong feel about it and makes for an entertaining children's tale.

One distraction I noted were redundancies, specifically using the same key word twice in consecutive sentences. For example: Freddy cried out and ran to the clearing in the forest. As he ran towards the big old oak tree.

Another example: Fantasia looked deep into Freddy's eyes and said, ``Freddy, has the Raccoon family not loved you and taken care of you as one of their own?The second Freddy is not necessary.

Good luck with the contest.

E

Thanks E, for reading and reviewing...I appreciate your suggestions and you are not the first one to comment on the redundancies, especially in the third paragraph. I have gone back and revised it. Thanks so much for your words...blessings.

Sigh, what a tale you tell. Seems he made a mistake or two and his "parents" had to help him figure it out. This would be good for adopted kids to read.

This is absolutely beautiful! What a wonderful lesson for children that skin or fur color means nothing. A statement against racism in the most uplifting way.

I don't often use the limited six stars they give us to award, but this is worth ten!

I am glad Freddy feels at home now with the Raccoon family. This is a really cute story with a moral. A good contender for this contest. Your flow an dialogue are good.

"Wile critter." I think you mean a "wild critter". This is an adorable story. It's a great story for children of today with so many different nationalities and colors of people. Families adopt children of all races. Schools are full of children from different cultures. This story is wonderful. I'd like to print it and read it to my 6 year old grandson. Good luck in the contest. Carole

Hi Carole...first I would like to thank you for the six stars...I truly appreciate them. I meant to use wile...it means sly or cunning...I was remembering Wile E. Coyote from the Roadrunner show. I am so glad you enjoyed my story and I would feel honored to have you read it to your grandson. Again, thank you so much for your words...blessings.

Thank you for your reply. I didn't know the word wile. Thanks for the info. I learn so much on FS every day. Thanks and I will read it to Jayme on Friday when he comes to Grandma's house for the weekend. Carole
