You have a terrific imagination and a great way of drawing a picture with words. Your grammar was perfect in my humble opinion and I have nothing negative to offer. Good job!

That's a captivating story. I like the mood you create out there in the open farmlands, the spookiness of it, and the dispair of the boy, and later the man, of a life with no future, and yet, forced to live it out...

Great job with this Suse. You have some wonderful images in this piece.

"As the morning woke the birds, and the sun struck him in the face, he opened his eyes to the slobber of an Angus bull who was standing over him,"

You do a good job of showing for the most part rather than telling the story.

Bravo! Good job, Suse. Bob

Hi Bob! Thank you...I'm very grateful for this kind note! I am told I do tell too much. But it's just me. Not good I guess. I have delved into why I don't do dialogue that much. It's hard to type it. All the ", ', " " 's?? Ha! I'm lazy! lol! I will try to do better. Your work always has a good mix. ! I haven't forgotten you, just behind like you would not believe... :( hugs, and a thousand thank you's Bob!! Susan

Excellent use of the required paragraph and great entry! I loved the boyish imagining - the cape and the sword - as it demonstrated such a painful innocence, a boy young enough to use his imagination, but made old before his time by the abductions.

Only one sentance that seemed to catch me:

And the man kept working, never getting close to anyone and tried to fool himself into believing he'd be okay

Just think it reads better as:

And the man kept working, never getting close to anyone, and trying to fool himself into believing he'd be okay.

Just my opinion though. Best of luck in the contest and congrats on your recognition! Looking forward to reading more of your wonderful writing.

Hello again Susan. I love this genre anyway but to read a well written story like this by you was a real pleasure in deed. Great storyline and very engaging. This story has the potential of being expanded in a big way. Excellent action, holds the interest, leaves the reader wanting more. Keep it up and have a great day of writing...Tim

Hi! I'm glad you like ufo stories...do you watch the documentaries about them on the History Channel? I am just fascinated. It sure puts questions in ones mind tho about God. And the Bible. Who knows. We'll all find out the day we pass I guess. Thanks Tim...have a great week!! Susan

Hello Susan. Yes, I do watch those type of shows and have spent many year in study regarding these issues. I think you will like my next new story "The Midnight Crow." The premise and story line will be structured with a Christian book publisher in mind and it will address some of these same issues. I am looking forward to putting my notes and outline into a completed story. Keep up the great writing. I enjoy reading everything you post...Tim

Hello once again Susan
First of all let me congratulate you on your FS recognition. That is superb and you are so talented. Now to this one. This is very well written, you did a magnificent job writing this story about the man who was picked up every month for a sperm deposit. I enjoyed it. Best of luck in the contest

Hi Susan:)
Your story certainly meets all the contest criteria, but I think it is too vague to be a strong contest entry. The story needs a bit more development. Perhaps a description of the first capture. Maybe mention of recent UFO sightings.

This could also be a recurring nightmare and not any part of reality. Maybe he sleepwalks into the pastute or suffers from seizeure and memory loss.

You have all the elements of a good alien abduction Sci-fi story. It just isn't quite up to your usual standards of excellence. Let me know if you revise this story.

Good luck in the contest.

Love and Irish hugs, my friend.

Roger
