Very interesting story, I liked how it was been written, specially the part of saving till the next rainy days is very true!
Tornado is really a scary and unpredictable destruction.
Hopefully we can find new way to control it, but I know mother's nature is hard to stop.
Thank you for sharing and Good luck for the contest!
Love much,
Lynn;0)
Thumbs up!

The creative ending truly makes this story work. There is not much of a set-up, but the descriptions of the aftermath of the storm are absolutely gut-wrenching, and the use of the wren was very creative. Best of luck in the contest. Larry

I have never lived through a tornado but I believe your description was probably very near what it must feel like. I particularly liked the idea the cloud was spawned by the devil. And after every tornado we hear of strange things that unexpetedly were spared while other items you would think are indestructible - are ruined. The glass jar didn't break. Good job.

Hi there
I enjoyed your little story! Love the aspect of putting money away for a rainy day, and the outcome in this situation. How true, and how fortunate that she'd done this. The concept can be applied in so many ways. A good story to be in the Story of the Month contest. Good Luck. Marion.

A very interesting story, your characters were believable and very likeable. Thank you for sharing. It is so different to read it like this vs the newspaper reports. Good luck in the contest, but see you have already been told how great it is!

Hi Susan :)
You have a well written story here, well worth a win in the contest. There are a few way too long sentences here and there. Overall, the piece works nicely.
Good luck
Ted

No sixers to offer, but this was a truly moving and timely write. Your characters were well-built and believable. You used dialog effectively to rampt tension and give readers a sense of place and person. I know this sounds morbid, but I'm actually glad none of the family survived to grieve those taken by the twister. I've read the news of the little toddler that survived, then later succumbed. So sad. Nice job with this one, Suze--hope you're well. have a nice week!
