Alas I am not perhaps in ur spiritual category but this was brilliant. Easy to follow easy to read. I assume the contest required this line of thinking but alas it was very predictabls. U describe the dark side brilliantly - I was quite moved and that does not happen a lot - and then u moves bit by bit like a swing out of the dark into the light. I aint v religious but this was beautiful. Well done. From my phone

my goodness this was a compelling and thought provoking read
Your words were so expressive I came with you through your darkest moments
then seeing the light hope spring into my heart
you came through all by reading the greatest book of all
I think this is a first rate entry for the contest and it should do very well

A very well expressed feeling about keeping the faith and not losing sight when life throws you a curve. With faith and hope God will be at your side.

Resist the devil and he will flee
if with his thoughts we don't agree
no good
unloved
no hope
A few of his favorite lines
made worthy
extremely loved
all hope abounds
are the answer to his whines
For in Christ we are made worthy
by the blood He shed
Showing us how much we're loved
Giving us hope for life in Him
Well done, Buck

Great title! Love the structure and the way its centered. You're right about, "Consuming Enslaving Devouring" It eats you alive. They call this the now generation which is destructive, destroys hope. Can't live without hope. Good luck with the contest! Les

Comment from Anthony Crosbie
This was a very powerful and beautifully written poem. Unlike some poems it had a clear story and led somewhere. My mum suffers from depression and if it is okay with, I will share this with her.
