Funny, the only two stories in my message box, are about medicine and are true stories. Strang. Anyway, I'm glad your surgery went well. However, I think it may have to do with the fact that you DO have great medical insurance and were able to get the best doctor. My first husband had both hips replaced and his insurance covered having Dr. Figgie, at the time a top surgeon, who operated on people like the The NY Giants. However, so many of us now do not even have crappy insurance, which stinks. I am one. I have never been without insurance and it is one of the nightmares I have since I am at the pre menapause age, and things will break down sooner or later. It's scary. I'm rambling. Anyway, I did not see any thing to nit pic about, but found your story interesting and I'm glad you are doing well.

Thank you so much, Heidi, for sharing your personal story and insights. Yes, sadly, there is still a need for good insurance to get the best care. I am fortunate and I thank God for that - oh and my husband's employer. I appreciate your generosity, my friend. Blessings, Bev

Thanks for sharing this, Bev. It comes at the perfect time for me. About a month ago I fell off my bike and was diagnosed with a broken sitting bone. I just went to my regular DR. this week, was re-xrayed only to discover I also have a broken hip. I go to the ortho dr. on Friday.
And you are so right, we hear way too much negative stuff about the medical profession. Your article was informative, uplifting and encouraging. Thanks for sharing. Linda
